Kat was a godsend. She had come to support Jamie and here she was, flawlessly helping him too. He took deep breaths like Jamie told him to, and then he looked up at Kat and smiled. "I'll be alright, thank you. You're wonderful." It had never bothered him to clean up Jamie's cuts and scrapes but looking at his own blood was just Not Okay.
Thomas climbed down from the exam table, feeling ridiculous. "Well here's where you can prove you're braver than I am," he joked to Jamie. Then he gave his son's shoulder a squeeze.
The doctor pulled a new lot of paper over the exam table and then patted it for Jamie to hop up. "Nice to meet you, Jamie."
