Thomas held his arm out and let the doctor wrap a tourniquet around it. Then he did what he was supposed to by pumping his wrist a few times so his veins would stand out. It was only when the needle actually went in that he winced. It didn't really hurt, but Thomas had a slight fear of sharp objects which he felt was totally logical.
When the doctor finished drawing his blood she loosed the tourniquet and gave him a smiley face bandaid. "You seemed like someone who would appreciate our kids' range," she said with a smile.
"Very astute," he informed her, though his eyes were locked on the vial of blood which had just been in his body. And suddenly his skin was very pale.
"Are you feeling okay?" she asked him worriedly.
"Yep, just-" Thomas closed his eyes and leaned forward to take several deep breaths. "This is why I could never be a vampire."
