"Good, we can be weird and liked together," Jamie said with a grin.
"Yeah, it is, but I'm starting from scratch, maybe I can work up to a gorgon or a siren or something next. Glad you like it, though." He folded the paper back up and put it back in his pocket. "And yeah, you never hear the story from the dragon's viewpoint. I think that'd make a neat story."
That made Jamie pause for a second, because she hadn't ever been in his life, so he didn't spare many thoughts for her. "No, no, it's fine," he said. "She basically just left the hospital as soon as she could, left me with my dad when he was 16. It's just been him and me ever since."
