Zoe sighed, "He's not shoving me into anything, Greed. He's asking me to move in with him and I haven't even let him sleep with me yet. It's a huge sign of commitment and trust he's showing here and he's asking me to show him that I'm as committed as he is." she thought so anyways. She wasn't thrilled that he gave her an all or nothing choice but it couldn't be just to keep her from Greed, could it? Well if she lived with Mike, she definitely wouldn't be able to meet Greed at 4 in the morning anymore. Her hands idly played with the blanket as she thought. ---------- He hugged himself under the blanket giving her a blank stare, handing her the ginger ale, "You want to hold that, I feel you killing my insides with your bullshit." If he coated this like candy corn he'd be puking more than bile. "Am I in a Nicholas Sparks movie? Because seriously Zoe? Stop and think for a minute. When he saw me the first thing that ran through his mind was 'I gotta get rid of this guy'. He was going to leave me in jail."
"Say you move in, then you're further under his scrutiny. It starts with what you eat, what you wear, how you wear your hair, playing barbie dolls with how he carries you on his arm. Then its what you do with your time, who you see and when you'll be home. Next. Poof. You're just this image that only he wants you to be." So he was twisting her own words from earlier, as long as it convinced her to refuse Mike's offer without making it seem like he was convincing her. Acting concerned with things he had already seen Mike do. Genius. Zoe couldn't knock what was already true. So maybe he was painting a darker image... ------- Zoe lowered her gaze like a wounded puppy when he handed her the bottle but she held it. "He wanted to leave you there because he thinks you're a bad influence. He was just trying to protect me. And for some crazy reason he thinks that there might be something going on between us so I don't really blame him. When I told him he was being paranoid, he said he was just being perceptive." she looked at him for a moment before looking away. Was there something going on between them? She didn't know anymore.
She put the bottle down and put her face in her hands as he kept on talking, all the while shaking her head. She slid her hands down her cheeks and said quietly when he was done verbally beating her, "Why can't he just love me so much that he wants to be with me more..." couldn't a guy want that? Would it be so bad? Greed could get bored of her and she wasn't enough for him but maybe she was enough for someone else. Was it necessarily as sinister as he was making it sound? ------- She wasn't running into his arms for comfort, but according her he had mutated his skin and flesh with Amanda's sent.
"I am a bad influence, you know that. But," he nudged her cheek, "I like my things just the way they are before I trump it around." Mike played with her the way he wanted, he petted but he didnt play with her. "If you want to wake up a stiff board with someone who calls every time he's home, wants to know your every move and calls it 'being perceptive', then your decision should be an easy one." Greed was throwing the ball around with hot fire on it. She poked with the poker, he was keeping the fire lit. --------- Zoe looked at him when he touched her, "Isn't that what you do? How many times have you asked me where I was or why I didn't call back or I'm not picking up my phone?" she sighed and was getting upset. This was a hard decision and Greed wasn't making it easier but she moved away from his touch at that last bit. She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and tried not to look as stung as she felt. If Mike wasn't being perceptive then there was nothing going on between her and Greed. But that would make sense because he had someone new and she was supposed to be getting over him. Maybe moving in would be the kick in the ass she needed to move on.
