Ever since her daughters had left the city, Phoebe had felt a little deflated. Yes, she still had Hecate and she did love her granddaughter, but a huge chunk of her immediate family was now gone, and that made her feel rather lonely.

But that was all in the very back of her mind as she rose from bed this morning. Another part in the back of her brain was trying to say that this whole feeling was rather familiar, but it was squashed by the larger part saying that he could make her happy, of course he could.

Loosely tying her robe around herself, she didn't put on any makeup or do up her hair, just placed a necklace around her neck, the pendant reaching just above her breasts.

A presence down the block made her stand up and stick her head out the window. It had to be him coming to see her, and the thought made her smile.
