WHO: Greed & Zoe WHEN: Valentine's Day WHERE: Greed's apartment, supermarket WHAT: Friends spending the day of love together WARNING: Penis cake, poetry, food fight!
After the movie affair, Greed had pouted on his own time. Zoe couldn't really understand what was going on in his head. He had a mirror image now that she had put in front if him. Except he was looking at his own reflection that wasn't of a sin. She was showing off the normal boy in his reflection and he didn't like seeing her reaction.
Greed had replied to her text a few times but he hadn't raced over to see her which was telling in itself. Greed was pouting.
He had just woken up, another long afternoon from a night spent out. He cleaned up, slipping on some jeans and a tight fitting t-shirt. He was brushing his teeth when there was a disturbance at the door. He opened it up swiftly with the end of the brush hanging out of his mouth. --------- Zoe was an inch or two shorter than normal because she was wearing flats, she smiled brightly at Greed standing in front of his door when he opened it, "Did you know that this place is realllllly hard to find without an exact address?"
He hadn't invited her and she hadn't told him she was coming over. Why not, she wanted to be the stalker dropping in for once. She frowned, "If you have any naked gifts over tell me now and I'll come back later.." her hands held up in front of her as if she did not want to see that. Him crashing her there was no chance of nudity but she just realized that with his sexual appetite, there might be a naked girl or two or sister at his place.
------ Greed pulled the paste covered brush out of his mouth when he'd tried to mumble with it in. He swallowed down the minty toothpaste. "All the titties are gone." He joked but felt a soreness inside at seeing her at his door. "Their panties I'm not sure about." The makeout sessions had been to soothe his ego.
He waved his hand for her to come in, a little stunned that she had traipsed all over the place to find it.Greed pulled the paste covered brush out of his mouth when he'd tried to mumble with it in. He swallowed down the minty toothpaste. "All the titties are gone." He joked but felt a soreness inside at seeing her at his door. "Their panties I'm not sure about." The makeout sessions had been to soothe his ego.
He waved his hand for her to come in, a little stunned that she had traipsed all over the place to find it. -------------- Zoe chuckled, "You coulda spit that out.." she said in reference to him swallowing the foamy toothpaste. She gave a nod of thanks as she came in and dropped her bag on the couch. "You know, I'd laugh but I'm pretty sure you're serious." she meant about the panties. Her eyes went over the couch to see if maybe there were any there.
She shook her head, "I don't know how you can do this all the time. Show up unexpected. I feel really awkward. I don't know if you're going out or expecting someone or..." she smiled self-consciously and waved her hands around. She knew he was kinda touchy about his 'space'. She'd only ever been when he'd brought her here. ------ He wiped of the excess of his mouth with the back of his hand. "Why are you here?" He wiped his hands off on a towel, looking at her carefully over his shoulder. She was in his space now and not by invitation. He had collected some new things since she had seen of last.
After the catastrophe at the theater Greed had slipped into the movie he'd really wanted to see, only to gut him a little further with the sting of losing her. The fun of romantic comedies was they had happier endings.
---------- That clearly hadn't been the reaction Zoe was hoping for and it stung a little but she looked at him helplessly, "I.. I mean I'll go if you want. I just wanted to see you, if you're okay..." she made a slight face, concerned, "I get the feeling you're avoiding me.." it'd only been a few days since she'd seen him but she knew him well enough to know when something was up. --------- "I'm fine. Been busy with work that kind if thing. Going to ask me about the weather?" He knew he was treating her indifferent. She deserved it. She had something she wanted. She was making him share. It still stung.
She hadn't asked him what happened of him a few nights before, but by the air in the room she would. ---------- Zoe was regretting coming over but he was acting so off.. "No, I can look outside and tell. What I can't tell is what's gotten into you." -------- "Nothing has gotten into me. I'm getting pretty." He flashed her a fake smile. "Since we're talking of days and weather, how are you and your chosen one." ---------- She gave a look like she didn't believe him, "So.. you're going out? I mean I know it's Valentines so you probably have a date.." she hadn't really thought about that. She was not liking the Sin he was being, just another clear sign something was wrong, "I'm fine. He's fine." -------- "Maybe." He hadn't even thought of the significance of such a day. It seemed a pitiful excuse to do anything romotely romantic. Those were reserved for movies anyway, what use was there in the real world where he had himself. He had his siblings. He had his things.
Greed moved to comb his hair back, threading his belt through his jeans. -------- Zoe blinked and shook her head, "Okay then.. you're busy getting ready so I guess I should go." she ran a hand through her hair, ruffling it. She hadn't expected to get kicked out so fast.Greed seemed so... different. He was obviously keeping something from her. ------ "Would you rather I undress?" He fiddled with the buckle before threading it through, waiting for her to answer first. He picked up a vest and slipped it over his shirt to button.
"Planning to take me somewhere?" He teased since she was already hovering near the door. --------- "You apartment, do what you want." she leaned against the wall next to the door and folded her arms across her chest. Now he was happy to see her? "I thought you had a date? Or had plans since you're trying to kick me out." -------- "Did I say I was kicking you out? I opened the door. If I had somewhere to be we wouldn't he here having this conversation." He slipped on his socks and shoes and set back on the couch.
"Why are you over there?" He pointed towards her. --------- "Actions speak louder than words." Zoe really didn't like him like this but she played along. "I don't know, right now your wall seems to like me a hell of a whole lot more than you do." did he think she didn't notice when put Sin face on? -------- He wrapped the skinny tie around his neck and tied it, stuffing it into his vest. "Who says I didn't like you? You're the one paying a surprise visit."
He leaned back, throwing his arm against the wall of the couch. "I'd have thought you had some fancy night planned." --------- "Coulda fooled me." she pushed off the wall and moved closer to him, "Yeah, isn't that just so rude of me? What kind of person would visit another person in their personal space at home without calling first?" she flopped down next to him on the couch and gave him a mock bewildered expression since he did that alllll the time.
"That would require having a boyfriend who wasn't working on Valentine's. Mike says he'll make it up to me, whatever that means." she shrugged, not overly concerned even if she was a little irked. --------- He eyed her with a narrowed brow as she took a seat, moving to the side to look at her as she sat closely. "So you came here instead. Where we going?" He asked nonchalantly. Their time now was so crunched as it was, he half expected Mike to have followed her. ------- Zoe turned to so she was facing him, her elbow resting on the sofa and her head leaning against her fist, "Oh you know, dinner in Paris, dessert in Fiji." she said casually. She lifted her head, "But then I realized I have no money so you know." she looked at him with a small smile, "I don't know, I just wanted to spend time with you. Maybe cook dinner... here." she looked towards his kitchen which she was sure was pretty unused, she frowned looking back at him, "I mean, do you have a date?" she really wasn't sure. ------- He crossed his led over his knee, mimicking her position as he held his chin against his fist. "No, I didn't. Looks like I do now. You cooking?" He smirked still not giving her the Greed she liked. ---------- She narrowed her eyes and pressed her lips together, not liking this. "No... we're cooking." she looked sad as she touched his cheek gently, "You sure you don't want to tell me what's wrong?" -------- Greed crossed his arms. He didn't pull away from her touch, but he still wasn't accepting yet. "I hate romantic comedies." He had started to lose his flare for them, or maybe it was just this one. --------- Zoe furrowed her brow, "You hate... since when?" she dropped her hand and raised her brows, "Are you still upset we didn't get to see 'Warm Bodies'? You know we can go see that today if you wanted." she had no idea he'd seen it and had such a bad reaction to it. -------- "I saw it already," he grumped with his arms crossed. "I didn't like it." It resonated a little deep. Strange, undeserved boy gets feelings from a normal girl who believes he can be a real boy. It kind of put a real kick in the ass. ------- "You did? Well thanks a bunch for waiting." she looked at him curiously again, "And it was bad and put you in this mood?" ------- "I told you I wanted to see it." Then Mike crashed his party. "I didn't think you could go wrong with zombies." He threw his nose in the air, curling his feet up under him Indian style. "Theygotahappyending..." He spoke under his breath. -------- Zoe still didn't quite get it, "Chance... it's a romcom, aren't they supposed to?" she sighed, "Since when do you keep things from me?" using his own words against him from the other day. They had their problems but they normally tried working things out but ever since the last time they'd kissed, he'd been pulling away despite saying he wasn't going anywhere. -------- He rubbed his chest at his heart, or where a dark Sin heart sat. "It hit a little close to home." That was the truth of it. He was stunned. Between her direct hit in the gut with Mike and tearing up at some silly zombie movie, it made him a little angry. ------- It was then that Zoe remembered the plot to the movie, underneath the kooky story and zombies, the plot was similar to what happened to her and Greed. But they didn't get a happy ending. Her own heart ached.. but they'd been down this road before. It was always a dead end. "Well it's a stupid movie... because you know what? Relationships end. But what you and I have? Un-fucking-touchable." and she believed it. --------- He gripped his legs, still seated Indian style and rocked back a.d forth for a little bit. He'd probably own the movie when it came out even if he just wanted to stomp all over it. Her words had some uplift and appeal, but it was still an awkward place for him. In her own way she was forcing him to comprehend a d deal with it. Not as violent as Lust, but he was still having to do something he wasn't comfortable with.
"I swiped this from the guy next to me," a fancy silver plated yellow watch. It was nicer than the last two. ------- Zoe looked at him affectionately, "It's lovely." she stood up and offered him her hand to help stand, "Do you have any food in your fridge or do we need to go shopping?" she looked at him curiously, "Have you ever cooked before?" -------- Greed unfolded his legs to stand. He looked around the fancy kitchen. "I've got booze. That's about it." That and bags of chips and chocolate. Nothing that someone would call substantial.
"I checked the stove once" to stuff things inside it, but as far as turning anything on? Not really. He had the fancy kitchen for the bar, not the cooking.
Once they were both on their feet he rested his cheek on her shoulder, slumped over as if she held him up. "I don't like being second." He whispered. Is this what she meant? ----- "That's just sad. We have to go shopping. For food. Real stuff. It'll be fun because both of us don't know what we're doing." she tried for a smile.
But when he finally said what was on his mind, she closed her eyes and then wrapped her arms around him. What was there to say? He was first? He was. But he shouldn't be. She had to make changes. She whispered back, "Neither do I..." it was why they weren't a couple. She couldn't be first in his life, he was now not first in hers. She'd tried to explain it to him before, it was the option you chose when the first wasn't available. Well can't have A so might as well settle for B. Being second meant you were the toy, not the partner. Being second sucked. --------- "What you can't cook? I thought all girls cooked except Lust." He mocked her with a silly grin.
He kept his forehead pressed to her shoulder, feeling a warmth in hee hug. It didn't make it better, but he liked getting some kind if physical contact. He was a physical being. To be at a distance without touch was excruciating.
"It makes me depressed." -------- "I wanna learn.. so that counts. We can learn together." she avoided saying anything about his sister along the lines of she doubted he was interested in her for her kitchen.
She gave a dry chuckle and squeezed him, "Welcome to the last six months of my life.." he was in the space where she'd been since she met him. Wanting but knowing that she couldn't have. Desperate for intimacy that was blocked by circumstances, being second. Depressed was an understatement to how she felt. -------- The only thing Lust would use a kitchen for is an elevated countertop. Greed shrugged it off, obviously it was still an awkward subject.
Unlike her he wasn't used to taking second place. It sucked, but Greed took this far more personal than any normal human being. He held onto her longer, squeezing back. "Ugggggghhhh" he groaned, flopping a cheek on her shoulder now. -------- Zoe squeaked like a squeaky toy when he grabbed her tighter and smiled a little, "Trust me, soon, you'll be over it." she kissed his cheek and glanced at the ground, "Chance.. if you lean into me anymore, I'm gonna collapse." she said it in a joking way to try to lighten the mood. She knew it hurt and she knew it sucked and just because she was used to it didn't make it hurt or suck any less. This heartache he was feeling was something she lived with and while she could sympathize she knew that when something shiny or his sister distracted him, he'd forget it. Even momentarily. But Mike, her biggest distraction, couldn't make her forget for a second. And part of her wanted to hate Greed for that. --------- He kept attached like a leech. He even puckered his lips the littlest bit when she kissed his cheek. It was only air, but his eyes were closed, he could pretend.
He pulled up, looking down on her with his bright blue eyes, hands on her waist. He still looked as if she had kicked him in the gut.
"What are we making?" ----------- Zoe's face fell when she saw the look on his face and she looked away, "Um... something simple." she hated when he looked upset but ugh, isn't this why she had Mike? And that picture? To remind her of all the reasons why being with Greed was not only impossible but a horrible idea? She kept talking like it was normal, "Don't wanna burn the kitchen down. Why don't we go to the store and see what we like? Don't think we can make greek or chinese but maaaaaybe pasta?" ---------- "Spaghetti?" He asked hopeful. He moved from her to grab his coat, dressed far more classy than seemed normal in walking into a grocery store.
He motioned to the door. "Let's go!" He was excited again. It didn't mean he had completely dropped this awkward vibe she was feeding him, but he could be appeased for now. As much as an excess sin could be. -------- Zoe raised a brow, "I didn't know you liked spaghetti. But I think that should be simple and doable. It's just pasta and sauce. Maybe we can get some garlic bread. And some ground beef for the sauce. Dessert too maybe."
She grinned at his excitement and almost took his hand but stopped herself. Sometimes it just seemed too natural. "What other foods do you like anyway? It's probably easier to learn to cook things we like. And you," she poked him in the side and grinned again, "Can be my cooking buddy because I never learn when I'm on my own." ------- "It's noodles and meatballs. Fuck yeah." He was a four year old when it came to his food. He played with it as much as stuffing it in his face.
He took them to the supermarket down a few blocks, deciding to walk because it was sunny out.
It was always said that no one should walk into a store on an empty stomach. They also weren't Greed he was bound to swipe the clerk of a few big bills before they could finish bagging.
He walked info the store with his arms stretched out. "Where too first?" He had two different ends to start running down and about fifteen aisles to run down. Anything could happen. He was bouncing, ready to pounce as if he was standing on a start line. ------- Zoe laughed and grabbed him by the back of his jeans, "Hold on there, knowing you we'll need a cart." she grabbed a cart and said, "Why don't we take it one aisle at a time. Um... have you ever been grocery shopping before? Your eyes have that crazy look in them."
She bumped his hip with her own lightly, "On second thought, why don't you push the cart, might save us a little bit of trouble." If at least one of his hands was occupied, that might cause less damage. Maybe. She hoped. The store was probably insured though. -------- "I've been in one before!" He insisted, but Greed often fed himself through take-out and fancy restaurants. Besides the casual beer and bag of chips, this was a little adventure.
He put his hands on the cart, reving it as if it had an engine ready to peel down the slick floor. He nudged her in the butt with the end of the cart prompting her to go. --------- Zoe raised her brows slightly with an amused smile as she nodded, "You've been in one before.. wow. I feel like I'm going grocery shopping with an alien."
She jumped with a small gasp when he nudged her in the butt, she'd been looking at a box of tea. She tossed it at him trying to use his chest as a backboard so the tea would get knocked into the cart, "You brat." --------- The box bounced off his chest into the cart. "You drink this stuff?" He wasn't a big tea drinker, though it was supposed to have all kind of herbal powers. He then picked up his own box of tea to toss at her head. To him this was a game. "Is that all you got?" ----------- Zoe's mouth dropped open and she laughed when he tossed a box back at her, she caught it and said, "Yes I drink this stuff. Anytime you kidnap me all there's to drink at your place is booze and tap water." she threw up a hand as if she was tired of it.
She looked at the box he threw at her and looked back at him, "This one is actually really good. I'll make you a cup when we get back." she pointed a finger at him, "I will tickle the hell out of you if you throw more things at me." -------- After stuffing a box of hot chocolate into the cart he stopped in front of the marshmellows. He tossed a bag of normal mellows at her and then saw all the other flavors. Coconut. Caramel. Strawberry. He poked every single bag. Holy hell he wanted them all. He started just tossing bags into the cart without a word or counting. Who didn't love marshmellows? -------- She made a face when he threw the marshmallows at her and then watched him dump a ton of the bags in the cart. She covered her face and bowed her head for a moment and then dropped her hands, "Chance!" she put her hands on his to stop him, taking out the bags he was dumping in, "Remember, we have to carry whatever we buy back and we haven't even picked up stuff for dinner yet. Take like one bag. I know, I know, gasp how dare I but come on."
She squished the bag in her hand lightly and teased him, "Kinda feels like you." -------- Greed watched her with an open mouth as she put back some of his bags of mellows. When she got to the caramel ones, he gripped the back. "Not those."
He squished the bag, paused, then poked his side. "Are you saying I'm fat?" He looked offended. He hadn't worked out as much lately, spending it mostly in cardio with Lust. He poked himself again, as if she had magically made more body far appear. -------- Zoe rolled her eyes, "Oh yeah, look at you. So out of shape." she waved her hand up and down the length of his body. She knew he might take her seriously so said, "You are in better shape than most people. Definitely in better shape than I am." but she ninja poked his side with a grin, "But I like you have one or two squishy spots."
They were passing by all the mixes for making baked goods when she asked him, "What do you wanna do for dessert? Ice cream or....?" ------- He squeezed a chunk of his side between his fingers through the vest. "Really? Maybe I haven't been working out as much...." He trailed off, muttering to himself.
He turned his head at the question. "What about cake. I probably have a cake pan hanging out somewhere." On one of his many infomercial impulse buys. ------- Zoe made an awww face and rubbed his side, "I like it... but you're still hard as rock." she made a light knocking motion on his abs by rapping her knuckles against his stomach."
She folded her arms across her chest, "Cake.... cake cake cake... you know that sounds familiar." she turned her lips in and tilted her head, tapping a finger against her chin as if she was deep in thought, "I remember someone promising me months ago they would bake me a cake... now I wonder who that wasssss...." she drew out the word and pointedly looked at him out of the corner of her eyes.. -------- "Did I?" He seemed to have forgotten that in the midst of their weekly dramafest. He had to give it to her, she was learning a few tricks from him. He crossed his arms across his middle.
There were at least thirty different cakes to pick from. His eyes went to the multi-colored cake with sprinkled inside. ------- Zoe shoved him, "Chance! Don't you even dare.." she chuckled, "You.." she looked to the side as if to see if anyone was there and turned back and lowered her voice, "shot me." she spoke normally, "And you promised me a cake to make up for it.
She narrowed her eyes and followed his line of sight, "Funfetti? As long as you use chocolate frosting." -------- "You moved into my line of vision. You jumped right in my path." He caught her eyes again then wondered why her face bothered him. He picked at her cheeks again because he couldn't see the things he liked most. She covered herself up with more makeup these days. He wasn't fond of the look on her.
"Chocolate and vanilla." It was almost as if he was making Zoe out of cake. It had the milky skin, the sprinkles and soft squishy batter. -------- "Uh huh and now you owe me c--" she frowned as he got in her face suddenly and was at her cheeks. She didn't know what he was doing at first but held still. She figured it out quick enough and didn't say anything but wiped at her nose and cheeks when he was done so her freckles could shine through. It'd been a habit before and after her bust up with Greed on New Year's and she started dating Mike, it'd become a habit again. She still couldn't understand Greed's fascination with her freckles. She just looked at him and didn't say anything until she stepped away from him and picked up a box of the funfetti cake mix.
"Oh naturally, why settle for just one?" she said with a small smile. She would never view it as something sweet like making her out of cake. To her, he just wanted more than one like always because one was never enough. --------- He turned to look at the line of toppings. He had to top it with more sprinkles. He debated on the chocolate verses the rainbow colors. Pondering Greed held them up to either side of her face, shaking both containers to make a decision. After some debate he went for the chocolate and tossed them into the buggy. The rainbow colored he put back on the shelf.
He had picked just one. It was bound to be a shock. --------- Zoe watched him and looked to the side and back to him as he was holding sprinkles up to her face. "Wow only one? Is rainbow not my color?" she didn't quite understand what he was doing but she was surprised he didn't just want to combine all the sprinkles. --------- "Needed more chocolate." He smiled. Besides, it matched her face. She didn't get it which made him unhappy.
Gripping the handle bar he went sailing down the aisle with the buggy, leaving Zoe behind to Chase after him. He was bound to throw more than spaghetti into the cart by the time they reached the checkout. -------- "Hey!" she called out after him as he zoomed down the aisle. She shook her head and went after him, "Don't be rude, Speed Racer, I don't have roller blades on my feet to keep up."
She looked in the cart and took some things out that were heavy and they didn't need. They had to walk, walk back and he was strong man but he whined like a baby. --------- Greed eyed her menacingly when they came to the checkout and hid buggy was considerably lighter. The employee handed him his reciept and Greed motioned for his pen. There was a little line behind them but Greed scribbled away on the back of the receipt. It was at least five or six minutes and irate customers later before hr looked up and grinned. "Thanks" he beamed taking his bags and stuffing the receipt (and the pen) into his pocket. ------- Zoe just gave him a sweet innocent look when he eyed her like he wanted to kill her for getting rid of some of his stuff. There just was no way they could carry it all. When he started scribbling away, she knew better than to bother him when he had that focused look on his face and all she could do was nervously smile at the customers who were looking like they wanted to murder her just for being with him. She said sorry a couple of times because she couldn't help it and then grabbed one of the bags as well.
"What was that all about?" she asked when they got outside referencing his impromptu journaling in the checkout line. ------- "None of your business," he stuck his tongue out like an unruly child on the playground. He wasn't even done with the ridiculous scribble. He had one more line that he wanted to add. He was so serious about it. Greed was no poet, but he had pretended to be so many different people he was a jack of all trades when it came to hobbies. He dropped some and came back to them later. Poetry and doodling were a few of his spastic areas.
By the time they made it to the apartment, Greed had all the bags in his hands. Not because he was aiming to be a gentleman but because he didn't want to Zoe to throw anything else out. ------- Zoe eyed him, "That is highly suspicious." but she let it go for now even though she was curious.
She tried to explain to him she could carry the bag but as usual he did what he wanted so she surrendered with a shrug while muttering lunatic under her breath.
Inside the apartment, she set down her bag and a small wrapped box tumbled out of it onto the sofa, "Oh." she picked it up and looked at him, "I almost forgot.. here." she held it out to him, "Happy Valentine's Day." they weren't together but it was a day of love, that meant including friends. -------- All the bags were piled on each other on the kitchen counter which had a few empty beer bottles inhabiting the space.
His eyes dropped instantly to her fallen package, wide and bright. Then she handed it to him which was good considering be was going to make a running grab for it anyway.
Greed snatched it quickly, shaking it and then tearing off the paper. ------- Zoe sighed with a smile as she watched him tear into it, "What if it was a bomb? You'd still jump on a mysterious package?". She moved to the counter to not have everything squished one on top of the other with the bags. She also moved the beer bottles to a corner, she'd dispose of them later.
The wrapped package wasn't very big, it was a box that contained a stamp. Not a postage stamp, it was an actual self inking stamp. She went over to him knowing he'd be confused and she turned a bit of the shredded wrapping paper over so the white side was exposed. She tapped the paper for him to try the stamp out and see what it said. When he'd stamp the paper and lift it in black ink and looking very official like it was a government seal were the words PROPERTY OF GREED. ------- "I'd still grab it." He'd have blown up into small Greed bits, but he'd be a explosion of happy Greed bits.
He looked at it oddly, turning it over and over in his hands. At her display he gasped grabbing it to make a lunge for her hand. He slapped it down proudly only to find she had moved her hand. He'd stamped his kitchen counter instead. ------- Zoe grinned, "Are you nuts? I knew you'd try that." she put her hands on her hips and looked at the counter, "That is true though, this counter is yours." she nodded, she now looking proud she'd gotten away from being stamped by him. ------- He smudged the ink off his counter. She had escaped. His eyes narrowed into very thin slits. She was challenging him. He picked up the stamp and pointed it at her with his finger motioning her forward. "I'm gonna get you!" He said triumphantly lunging for her again. ------- Zoe had hoped that was it but nope, of course it wasn't. She turned to take some of the groceries out but stopped when he made his announcement. She looked at him and yelped as she jumped out of the way when he lunged for her. "You ARE nuts!" she said with a laugh and then backed up and put her hands up, trying to put on a serious face, "Greed.. come on, is this how you treat me after I got you a gift? Really?" she was watching him carefully, she had no intention of getting branded. ------- He held it with his arm ready, a cobra ready to strike. When she sailed away from him again he growled at her, quick to chase her around the kitchen. After a few good laps he paused suddenly with that focused look on his face. He pulled out the receipt from the store with the pen he'd snitched and started to scribble down words again. ------- Zoe kept dodging and staying out of his reach, it would be impossible to explain the stamp to Mike. Not that he'd know who Greed was but still. Plus she wasn't cattle. "I feel like I'm at the Pirates of the Caribbean ride.." referencing when the animatronic pirates chase after the females in the town.
When he stopped all of a sudden, she put a hand to her chest and let out a sigh of relief, "Thank god..." she walked into the living room to take her shoes off and called out to him, "Do you have any pots?" since they'd need that to cook in.. and plates to eat off of. ------- Greed could chase her all night, he would run her around the house until she passed out. He was completely concentrated on his little project, that when she spoke he bristled. "Zoe! I'm trying to write something here!" He held up his hand as if to keep her away until he was done.
He scribbled something out with a grunt, flopping his chin in his hand. The tapping pen against the counter didn't unstick his moment either. "You're hovering. I can't think when you're talking to me." He pointed to the cabinets. She might find a thing or two inside that had nothing to do with the kitchen. He had a habit of stuffing things where he wanted. Like the the pig shaped chia pet that had never been opened. ------- Zoe threw her hands up, "Geez, sorrrrr-ry." she tried to peek at what he was doing but he seemed so intense. She didn't even know Greed was a writer... well he could just as easily be making a stealing list for all she knew. She opened various cabinets and made a face as she pulled out the chia pet box. Okay.... she pulled out a set of steak knives that could cut through shoes, a foreman grill, well at least this was more kitchen like stuff.
She gave up on the cabinet for the time being and moved to put the groceries away, meat and sauce and stuff in the fridge. The cake stuff and box of tea was left. She frowned as she opened a few cabinets and found them all full. She blew out a stream of air and then took out all the stuff from one shelf and put it on the counter and then put only food items on that shelf. Cake stuff, other random junk food that Greed picked up and her box of tea. There. ------- There was already a stockpile started in his new place. It was a wonder the entire contents in the cabinet didn't fall off on her. As long as she didn't---"You better not he moving anything...I have a system." He shook his head up and down. He wanted her to be quiet. He had one more---there! He held up the receipt reading it over one good time.
Now she could talk. He hadn't even realized she had stamped herself in his space with that box of tea. --------------- Zoe cringed, "I..." but he was still busy. When he was done she pointed to the one shelf she used, "All I did is put all the food we bought there that isn't perishable and stuff what was there on the shelf on top. There's no room for it anywhere." she knew he was particular about his stuff though so quickly added, "You want me to move it back?" he actually should have been the one to put the food away and get the pots and stuff out, she was at a loss in his kitchen. ----------- He slumped in his seat. The changes were not things he could be happy about. "And where are my beer bottles?" How else could he play beer pong if she threw them out?
Greed flattened out the crumpled receipt until it was a seemingly flat sheet of paper again and cleared his throat. "Are you ready?" ------ She pointed at the bottles on the counter, "Right there. We need room to cook though!" she threw up her hands as if trying to defend her actions.
She was twisting her lips and trying to figure out where to actually put the food on the counter when he asked if she was ready. She furrowed a brow, "For what...? To cook?" because no, they still didn't have a pot and it might take her hours to find one. ---------- "I was saving those for something." He horded them into a corner and looked at her as if she had grown horns. "I said are you ready. Sit!" He motioned at the stool opposite side of the bar. Once she had her seat he read what he had scribbled onto the back of the receipt. To him it was like reading Shakespeare.
"Your face is like a cookie, I wanna play hookie. Come rain or shine, You make me go blind. Just gimmie that kiss, That makes me a supernova bliss, Cause I'll lay down and die, For that look in your eye....
The end." ------------ Zoe gave him a straight look, "You're a very weird guy." when he barked at her to sit as if why was she not already sitting. But she obliged him and sat on the stool. She folded her hands in her lap and looked at him expectantly.
When he finished, she blinked a couple of times, her mouth having dropped open and she slowly smiled, "I was not ready for that.. Greed, that was beautiful, I didn't know you wrote... poetry." well it wasn't traditional poetry but that's what it was. She was clearly taken by surprise but impressed. Then again he always managed to surprise her. What was also clear was Zoe did not suspect the poem was about her. --------- His chest puffed out like a rooster until he realized she still didn't get it. "Zoe!" He whined with a grump. He shoved it in her hands. "It's about you damnit!" This was potential for a Hallmark card, she needed to get with the program.
He ripped into a bag of marshmellows and threw one at her head. After a few seconds he protest a few more and popped one in his mouth. ----------- Zoe's eyes went wide and she squeaked, "Me?" she looked at the receipt he shoved into her hands and was a little blown away. No one had ever written a poem about her before. She read it again, her mouth a little open, not even feeling the marshmallows he threw, they just made her look at him, her face turning a pretty shade of pink. ---------- She was surrounded by a litter of marshmellows by the time he could see her face.
"Yeah that's right!" He huffed, pelting her with another fluffy mellow that bounced off her nose. ---------- Zoe twitched her nose and looked almost a little sad. She nodded with a soft, "Thanks.." she folded the paper and stood up, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, "So.. I couldn't find a pot. Do you know where it is?" --------- She derailed him again. Did none of this get him points? It was crushing really. She knocked him down, but he kept hitting back.
Tossing the bag of mellows on the counter he held his hand up for her to stay there. He shuffled around for a short minute and set up a line of pots. In the midst of his cabinets he found a cake pan. He held it up. "Here's the cake pan." --------- Zoe nodded and then scrunched up her face, "Wait.. is that..." she looked at the cake pan in her hand, "Ohmygod... Chance.. why do you have a penis cake pan?" she pointed at it, "You're making me a penis cake?" she covered her eyes with her hand. She muttered, "I think I'm going to need a I'm sorry I made you a penis cake cake.." -------- He looked over the pan, seeing absolutely nothing wrong with it. "I thought it was cute." He held it in front of him down by his crotch. "Whaddya think? A good likeness? Wait I forgot you haven't seen the jewels yet..." Or so he thought. She always shied away when he was skipping around in a towel and nothing else. ----------- "You're..." she sighed and shook her head, what was the point in arguing. She tilted her head and looked at him making the comparison, "I think you're giving yourself way too much credit." not that she'd ever admit to peeking but she had. She'd snuck glimpses at his butt too.
She took a pot and ran the tap to fill it with water, "Penis cake.. ugh. Alright, so I'll help but you said you'd make it yourself." she smiled because this was going to be amazing to see. -------- "You think? I thought it was a good likeness." He shrugged laying it up on the counter to stare at the cake mix. He had never really cooked himself anything in his life. Even in the long winter months he'd been with Josie. She did all that he just swiped the food.
He picked up the box looking over it. Directions with pictures. Yes. -------- Zoe set the pot of water on the stove so it could boil and was reading directions for the pasta herself. She bit the corner of her bottom lip as she fiddled with the setting on the stove and then looked at him, "So this is pretty simple, you can make this even when I'm not here. Maybe feed some of those naked presents so they aren't like sticks." she wasn't bitter.
She stuck a finger through a belt loop of his jeans and pulled him over to her to show him the instructions on the pasta package. "All you do is boil the water, dump the pasta in and wait for it to soften. Then we add the sauce and meatballs." she smiled actually kinda proud and happy at how easy it seemed.
She looked at the box in his hands, "Eggs are in the fridge." --------- "You want me to feed the women I have over?" Wasn't it enough he sometimes got them a cab? He watched her instructions when she hooked him. It seemed simple enough right?
He nodded dragging out the eggs, milk and other basics. This was the most stocked his refrigerater had been since he moved in.
Bowls. Mixer? Well he'd have to stick with a fork. Or a whisp, did he have that. "Remind me to buy a mixer next time I'm out." He'd come out of the store with the most expensive model. --------- "Would that be so bad? I mean.. don't you see any of them more than once?" he must have favorites. God, why was she giving him dating advice almost. She needed her head checked.
She put the stiff pasta in the pot and smiled, "Oh yeah? Does that mean you planning on baking more often? Though you know these," she poked his bicep, "Will probably get the job done better than a mixer and give your arms a little bit of a workout." -------- "No? Not usually. Some of them maybe. Haven't lately." he talked as if is was just describing the weather while he dumped shit into a big bowl. When he got flour all over himself he grumbled heading off into his room where he wrapped a sheet around his waist and back like a toga.
Once he was content with that he went back to mixing. Up until he got to the eggs. That was just---"Gross," he announced dropping the goo into the bowl shell and all. -------- "Oh. Well. Then maybe for your sister..." since she knew Greed repeatedly saw her. She stirred the pot and put another on the stove for the sauce and meatballs.
She peeked at him with the flour on him and tried not to laugh but when he came back with his toga she couldn't help it. "Maybe we should add an apron to the list of kitchen supplies." she quickly went over to him when he dropped the whole egg in, "Greed! You can't put the shell in, that's gonna taste gross." she stood next to him and pinched out pieces of shell, throwing them on the counter. "Only the inside of the egg goes in the mix."
She stepped back and pulled out her phone, snapping a photo of him in his domestic bliss. She grinned as she looked at the candid shot of him in his apron toga and a mixing bowl with flour on him. She sucked in a breath, "So hot." before she laughed again. ---------- "Pish like she'd even...." Greed laughed. Mostly to himself. He was glued to her while she picked out his shells. "You don't?" He'd never made a cake before. He hadn't a clue.
Over his shoulder he caught her snapping a picture. "What are you doing?" ---------- Zoe shook her head, "No... shells bad, goop good."
"Taking photographic evidence of Greed being domestic. Kinda cute." she turned the phone to show him the picture which was adorable but soooo not manly at all. She was going to keep that picture forever. She mock gasped and teased, "I should send this to Wrath, she'd love it." -------- He stirred the contents around, making disgusted faces as the milk, eggs into what looked like a large lump of silly puddy. He started off slow at first before it loosened up to look more like cake batter.
He stopped dropping the fork in his mix. "I don't know how to take you being BFF with my sister." It was a little weird. ---------- Zoe put the phone away and then stirred the sauce in the pot and added the meatballs. "We're not BFF. We're just friends. I've only really hung out with her once." she said it as if it wasn't a big deal. She looked at him, "Why does it bother you so much?" --------- "It's bad enough I have to share you with a new dude. Now I have to share you with my sister?" He didn't dig this thing where he had to give her up to other people. Especially his family. He was tight knit with some of them, but he didn't want to shove her into the mix. She was his. "Wrath has George, what does she need you for?" He took it as an offence.
When he'd mixed everything into a smooth batter he took a taste by dipping in his finger. He responded with a disgusted look. Something was missing. -------- Zoe stirred the pot just to keep it from burning, "Because girls need friends who are girls to hang out with. To do... girl things. And have girltalk. It's helpful having your sister around because who else is going to understand what it's like to be friends with a Sin? And she can't talk to your guys' sisters about George. I don't think they like him very much. Your family really seems to be against forming any sort of bonds outside of each other. You get to hang out with me and her both, don't you? If you have one, what do you need the other for?" throwing his question back at him to hopefully make him realize the ridiculousness of it. Doubtful. But she could try. ---------- "What kind of girl things? If I put on a wig and boobs will that help?" She was completely rational, she made sense but Greed didn't see it that way. "Ask me, what do you need to know?" In his head he would rather her come to him about anything..Zoe was actively intersecting his worlds. He wasn't ready for that. -------- She chuckled, "No, that will not help." she hesitated and made a winced face, "Greed.. it's not that easy. I can't talk to you about things that are... well, about you." it was why Wrath got to know about how upset she was and forgotten she felt and Lust sending the photo and Greed didn't. "I do talk to you about other things though. Things I can't talk to Gabe or Mike about or even Ray." and it wasn't just supernatural wooky kooky stuff. --------- "I had this conversation with Wrath. I could make a pretty girl...I think." The muscles might give it away unless he was a body builder.
"What kinds of things do you talk to me about that are so different?" He felt like she was taking things away from him. --------- Zoe kept her eyes on the food she was cooking, "I don't know.. like my grandfather. Ray is related to him and I don't think she can even understand because she thinks Poseidon is wonderful. But I can talk about him to you. I can tell you a lot of things. I know you don't understand or care about most of them but I still feel like I can tell you. I've never had a lot of friends or people that I felt comfortable around... I love Gabe to bits but he gets so weirded out when I start crying and you know I tend to leak pretty often." Greed knew what she needed when she was hurting, most people didn't. She didn't mention Mike on purpose. ---------- He wasn't going to hide the fact that he wanted to know everything she was concerned with. He had imbedded himself, it seemed unnatural for him to not have all the goods and its stories. "But I want to know it all. I don't want you to keep things from me. You can tell me about me. Who elsd would know more about me than me?" He poured more sugar into the bowl and went to stirring again. He took a taste and still thought it was missing something. Despite the conversation Greed shoved the bowl towards her pointing down. "What's it missing?" --------- She frowned, "Well.. do you tell me everything?" she gave him a pointed look because as they so recently established, he didn't tell her a lot of things.
She took the bowl and looked at the ingredients scattered on the counter that he'd used and what was left over. She took a teaspoon of this and that and added it to the mix, "Just stir that in and pour it into the pan. Ummm.. probably check and see if the oven is empty first." --------- "I tell you things," his voice pitched a little while he dumped the batter into the pan, missing and throwing some of it onto the counter, which he licked off his finger.
The stove was full of other odd things which he piled up on the counter like one would display trophies. He stuck the cake in the oven proudly. -------- Zoe folded her arms across her chest and gave him a dull look as she waved the spoon, "Everything?" since his complaint had been she didn't tell him all the things. ------- "What?" He squeaked. She looked as if she was throwing down some executive order.
He stood with a hand on his hip, challenging her with his own stance. --------- She smiled a little, "Do. You. Tell. Me. everything?" she raised her brows a little, having no problem repeating herself until he answered the question. She had this habit of making them equal.
She looked at his stance and covered her mouth with her hand as her smile grew, "It's uh.. kinda hard to take you seriously in your toga dress." she jutted her hip out and put her hand on it, doing an exaggerated imitation of him. "By the way.. do you have a strainer for the pasta?" if not, they'd improvise. --------- "Not everything," his voice lingered in that high pitch the more she pressed, as if he was already hiding something already. "You don't ask me everything!" She couldn't be so broad here. "Define...everything?" He waved his hand about.
"What's wrong with my toga? You're the Greek, isn't this what you guys do?" He shook his head side to side to answer her question. Another thing to add to his shopping list. --------- "I shouldn't have to ask certain things, because then you can just say 'well you didn't ask'." she countered, "This is like when you didn't tell me you slept with your sister and tried to get out of it on a technicality." she tapped the spoon on the side of the pot, the kitchen now smelling like a cross between cake and italian. "My definition of everything is everything you want me to tell you. The same rules apply to you." so if he couldn't and didn't tell her everything, she was not obligated to do the same.
Zoe gave him a look, "I'm a quarter Greek and I've never worn a toga in my life." she twisted her lips to the side, "Hmmm... well do you have anything that can act like a strainer? Just something that can hold the pasta but has holes so the water can drain." ---------- Greed twitched as she backed him into a corner on that one. He shuffled himself out of the toga and tossed it onto the couch in a ball. "I tried to tell you about that...." She still brought it up. He'd thought they'd ventured past that, but humans didn't really get it. He didn't expect Zoe to now.
He thought a moment, contemplating his inventory. He dashed off into one of his rooms, not empty handed. Seated on the counter now was a mesh trashcan (unused!) With a million little holes. "This work?" --------- Zoe laughed when she saw it, "Wow.. yeah, that works." he was pretty clever, she'd give him that. She put her hand on his arm when he came back and looked at him, "I didn't bring up your sister in a bad way, my point was just about what you were saying. No, I don't tell you everything, and you don't tell me everything either." she may not love that he fucked Lust but she had Mike so it really was none of her business what Greed did and with who.
She gestured at him to hold the wastebasket over the sink so she could pour the pasta into it. --------- He plunked the basket into the sink followed by the pot of noodles which he nearly tossed onto the floor. Her remarks didn't go unheard, but it wouldn't be the last time Greed wouldn't shoot for information. "Wrath says you talked all about me at your little sleepover." Regardless if her flinging the worlds together he still was keeping them at a distance. At some point he wouldn't be able.l to anymore. -------- Zoe helped him with the pot, she was hungry and this dinner was hard work. She kept her eyes on the steamy water so it wouldn't splash on them and just casually agreed, "Not all, but yeah, I talked about you. She asked questions. I answered."
She smiled, actually kinda proud nothing was burned, "Do you have plates?" ---------- It was so domestic being with someone like this...it actually brought some memories of times he'd been on his own. With Lust this would be a Cirque du Soleil event with food, except with much more sex.
He pulled out a stack of comic booked themed paper plates. "I've got Batman, Captain America, Superman and Spiderman. Which is it?" He spread them out going for Superman himself.
The cake was rising in the oven, the aroma of sugar filling the air. "Is it done yet?" He had spaghetti but he was already wanting the cake. He was giddy. ------------ Zoe chuckled, "Remind me to add actual plates to your kitchen list. You know they make them with superhero themes too." she looked at the offerings, "Hmmmm. Captain America. I always thought he was kinda cute."
She put a plate full of food for him and some for herself and he was already talking about cake. "Nope. You might as well actually chew and enjoy your meal. And then you can test the cake. You take a knife or a toothpick and pierce the cake. If it comes out goopy, it's not done. if it's clean with just a few crumbs, you're good." she believed in the give a man a fish vs. teach a man to fish. ---------- He pulled a handfull of spaghetti with his fingers to drain into his mouth."Oh?" He said through a heavy, open mouthed chew. He found it kind of hot when a girl was into comics, he could share his geekiness. "Think I've found this years Halloween costume then." He gave her a wink and piled up his plate. She was lucky to make it through a forth of her plate before he'd gotten a second helping. --------- Zoe chuckled as she watched him, "Gawd... you even eat like a five year old." she flicked a strand of spaghetti at him and used a utensil herself.
She grinned, "Really?" she bit her bottom lip and looked at her food because the question that was in her mind would unelash a can of worms that she wasn't ready for. She watched his second helping and wondered out loud, "Did we make enough..?" she forgot that he could eat enough for a small family. --------- "What?" Greed shrugged sliding another handful in. He didn't get to eat like this. "It's usually restaurant food." This was kind of awesome perhaps because Zoe made it.
He sat up straight putting his fisted hands on his sides like a super hero. "Whatdya think? I got the has for Cap. Stars and stripes are in these days. Come on you might find it sexy." ---------- "It's not as good as restaurant food I know but sometimes it's nice to eat at home. Plus, I'm poor, so it'll help to learn how to cook at home." she was surprised at how simple it'd been, but really only an idiot could mess up pasta.
She laughed at his pose, "You could pull it off but I don't think it'll top your toga apron with you covered in flour." she smiled at him softly because that sight really was one of the best things she'd ever seen. "I think your cake is done." she sniffed the air that was smelling delicious now. ------- He flew out if his seat to the oven which gave him a big whiff of smells when he opened the door. He couldn't hide the fit of giggling. "Look, its erect now." He poked it with a toothpick already wanting to slice off a piece but it was emitting hot steam. Until it cooled he couldn't even ice it.
"Come on Zoe. Don't you wanna see me in star spangled spandex?" Oh the horror. -------- Zoe wrinkled her nose and gave a grossed out grin, "Ugh.. I can't believe you're talking about my cake." she finished her food and went to grab all the frosting and decorating stuff they bought. "I don't want to see you in spandex, star spangled or otherwise. Ever." -------- "Wait til I add the white frosting," he laughed. "I'll let you have a lick." It was vulgar the entire thing, but Greed found it hilarious. He'd even picked up white icing to write with. So he could spell her out a message. He was quick to open the containers, dipping a finger in the icing for a taste. Glutt would have murdered him over it if the Sin had been there.
"I think I got the ass for it. What you think Cap looks better?" ---------- Zoe whined with a laugh, "That's grossss!" She cleaned up the table and went over to see what all he was going to dump on the cake. She made a pinched face when she saw the cake, "Oh God..." leave it to Greed to deliver on his promise (late) and never in a way she dreamed possible.
"In a word, yeah." she grinned. ------------ I'm insulted Zoe!" Seriously she was so wrong. He gobbed down nearly half the icing container onto the cake to spread out after he'd mixed it with the chocolate. Sort of. Halfway through icing it he ran off again, plopping a group of little plastic figures onto the counter. There was an alien, a Captain America just for her, a frog and a few other ridiculous figures. By the time he was done arranging them he'd left the entire length of the penis cake empty so he could write out his message and add a few marshmellows and sprinkles all over it.
"Turn around!" He told her, turning her in circles until her back faced him and the cake where he tried in fancy cursive to write 'I'm sorry I shot you and fuck my sister..' He even added a little heart. --------- Zoe smiled, she enjoyed teasing Greed. She swiped her finger in the glob of icing and sucked on the tip of her finger as she watched him. She grinned, biting down on her nail when he brought the toys back. "Oh Captain," she picked up the figure, "How good of you to join us." she spoke to the figure and brought the tiny plastic piece closer to her face saying in a dramatic hushed voice, "How sad we can't be alone..." and she returned him to the pile so Greed could arrange them.
She made a face, "What...? Ack.." she let him turn her around and sighed, "I swear to god if you're doing something really horrible with that white icing, I'm not gonna be able to eat this cake..." she rocked back and forth on the balls of her feet a little, "Can I look now...?" -------- Greed flicked the Captain with his finger once she set it down, keeping him at a distance from the other figures. It was almost as if he were punishing the little plastic thing for getting itself close to tangled with Zoe's lips. How dare he? He left the Captain alone on the counter, not even giving him a spot on the cake.
"Alright, alright, now you can turn around." --------- Zoe turned back around and looked at the cake with a smile as she started to read but the smile faltered as she read the rest of what he wrote. She looked uncomfortable but the irony wasn't lost on her, "You're apologizing for sleeping with your sister... on a penis cake." for some reason, it made total sense for Greed.
She was still touched by the gesture though and put her hand on his arm, asking curiously, "The cake was supposed to be for shooting me... why did you add that?" asking about the sister part. She was a bit surprised, Greed didn't seem sorry about it, he did it often. Why he felt the need to apologize for it was something she didn't understand. ----- He turned the cake re-reading his words. Did he misspell something? He nodded after every word, not understanding the awkwardness. "Because I didn't tell you I fuck and because I fuck her." It was a simple reason wasn't it? What didn't she understand? He stared at the Captain finally stuck him on the cake after heavy debate. He made a home right on the tip in an untouched space. ------- She curled her hand around his arm so her arm was looped through as she looked at the cake and then back to him, "I... get that. I mean.. why are you saying sorry for it?" wasn't he the one that said this was how things would always be? Did he.. wish they could be different? ------ Greed fingered off some icing to dab on her nose. "Because it upset you." His logic was quite simple. He liked his toy's feelings, and when she was sad he was sad. She effected him still no matter how he had to get comfortable in her new path. ------ As always, never the answer she wanted to hear but honest just the same. "Greed that's not--" she paused and sighed. What was the point? She had a boyfriend now, she had one so she wouldn't be stuck in this ring around the broken heart with Greed. So she settled on just saying, "Thank you." it looked like she was going to kiss his cheek but instead she rubbed her frosted nose against it, smearing icing on his cheek instead. ------- Greed readied his cheek, his grin kicked up on one side but at that slick of cake frosting he scrunched his face. That was dirty.
"Close your eyes." He could have smacked a big one on her but instead he slid a slab frosting down her lips and smushed the cake in her face. ------ Zoe shut her eyes tight when she felt him smush some cake against her mouth. Her tongue came out and licked along her bottom lip and she nodded, "It's good.." her arm that was linked with his slid in further till it was on his lower back and she brought him in closer, still having frosting on her face, "You should try some." she tilted her head back a little and it wasn't for him to get better access to her tasty lips, it was because she pulled a Greed and used her hand to dig into a piece of the cake and bring it up between them, smushing it against his face, getting it against his mouth and nose and then smiling as she wiped her hand on his cheek a little not that it made her hand any less sugary. ------------ He narrowly escaped having cake slide down his nicely tailored vest, dropping it to the floor with a splat and a laugh. He could still taste chocolate and sprinkles with white cake. "Mmm. That's good penis." He grabbed a handful, slapping it across her cheek but he didn't stop there...another gob of frosting was fingered across her neck and onto her shirt as he pushed her back slightly in a fit of giggles. He licked his fingers. "You wear it well." --------- Zoe made a face, "Oh ew.. I don't wanna know about dicks in your mouth. Cake or otherwise..."
She gasped and her mouth dropped open when he got more cake on her and she eyed him. She didn't bother to wipe the frosting off herself. She grabbed a handful of cake with each hand. The tips of her fingers touched the underside of his jaw, sliding sugary goodness down his neck and right along his tie, shirt, and vest, her hand still running down his torso till they scraped off on his belt. Her other hand smeared a gob of frosting across his cheek, her fingers sliding across his lips slowly while she tilted her head and appreciated her handiwork. "You got a little something on your clothes. And uh, right here." She tapped the side of her mouth and she said it all with a straight face but her eyes were laughing at him. ------ All he could do was stare and gasp with his eyes, his mouth wide open. "You didn't." He tugged at his vest now smeared with white cake and brown frosting with little pellets of funfetti. His jeans, that silk tie, there was frosting even hanging off his bangs somehow.
He wasn't about to call a truce. That was waving in the white flag too soon. He threw out his hands. "You're supposed to eat it!" He shoved some fair in her mouth, laughing the entire time. He didn't even pay attention to the floor where bits of cake and frosting had ended up. As he stepped forward he slipped on a hunk, the frosting spreading out under his shoe like paint. Her arm was his only leverage when he went down pulling her with him. He broke her fall at least, but Greed was still laughing and he'd probably bruised his tailbone going down. ------- Zoe licked some frosting off her hand, "Really? Cause it looks like I did." and she gave a cheeky grin.
She tried to dodge his cake attack and burst out laughing when he grabbed her and they both went tumbling down, "Oof!" she landed on him and got even more cake from his clothes on her. It was on her face, her neck, her hair, her arms. She looked down at him, "From what little I managed to get in my mouth, this was good cake." she put a hand on his chest to try to push herself up and off but it slipped on the mess and she fell back on him. ----- Soft or not her hands were pressing into him which is played up his bruises a little more..he'd tried to push a car out of the snow a week before. He was sure he'd heard something crack. He made an uncomfortable while, and there was some grunting in there, even tears. zoe liked those.
He grabbed her wrists holding her gently so that she was just pressed against him, not digging into him with her hands trying to get up. He rolled them over, one hand going to press into his back, painful to turn. ------- Zoe just looked in his eyes when he pressed her into him, rubbing more cake on them both. It was an intimate moment that she was about to dwell on when she noticed something was wrong. She blinked and looked up at him when he rolled them over so she was on her back, "Are you okay....?" she asked with wide eyes full of concern. ------- He propped himself up on one hand dug into the floor. "I think I cracked something." Yes he was going for sympathetic puppy if it got her to stay longer. The beauty of it was it started from a truth, which made his case good. "My ass hurts," he said between laughs. " I fell a few times trying to push that car out of the snow last week." And he'd got it home---eventually. Throwing himself onto the floor now with one good slip just irritated it.
His attempt to get up was thwarted by the injury, or at least how worse he made it by giving her a sad face. "Ow."
