WHO: Greed & Zoe w/NPC Thomas WHEN: January 14 [Backdated] WHERE: Zoe's apartment, theatre WHAT: Watching your ex date is super easy if you know how to do it right WARNING: Horrible ex's not letting Zoe date right
Zoe got ready for her date. It was a little nerve wracking, the guy was nice enough but she hadn't been on a date date in so long. They were just going to the movies but she took a little care with how she was, putting on earrings that were dangly. Her mind though was with Greed.. he was never far from her thoughts normally but last night he had managed to sneak into her dreams in an entirely new way. She put her hands on her cheeks as they warmed and shook her head to try to clear it.
She was putting the other earring on when there was a knock at the door. She opened it thinking it was Gabe but she saw Greed, her cheeks flushed but before he could see it she slammed the door in his face. After a moment she put the chain on the door and then cracked it open, one brown eye looking at him as she said in an exasperated voice, "What're you doing here?"
------
Greed threw a whistle when she opened up, flicking a finger against her dangly earring. "Oooh, showing off." He looked her up and down, "lookin' good, lookin' good." Without another word he weaseled his way inside the apartment which smelled all sorts of girly now that she was about to go out.
"Going somewhere? I thought we could order pizza, play a few rounds of killing zombies." He grinned holding up his game dvd. He knew her date would show at any minute, he'd finally tracked down the night so he could invite himself.
------
Zoe pursed her lips together as of course he barged right in. She gave him an annoyed look and swatted his hand away when he played with her earring, "Yes, I am going somewhere. If you'd called first you'd know that and not have shown up just to get kicked out." she pointed at the door to indicate he had to leave but she wouldn't look at him.
------
"I was in the neighborhood." He played coy, but he knew exactly what was going on. "Why so quick to throw me out? Someone picking you up?" He looked excited.
------
Zoe was texting something on her phone and then said, "Not anymore. I'm meeting someone somewhere." she made a shooing motion at him, "No you can't know who and no you can't come.. with me. You can't go. With me." she looked at him and then looked away a little flustered, "Oh, hold on, let me get your shades from New Years." she gave a big smile, "Would hate for you to suddenly need them and show up again on my next date."
------
Greed had purposefully left those on her person so he'd have a legitimate reason to come back. "Oh? I'd forgotten about those." He seemed a little crushed she was returning them, now his bartering system was broken.
"Where you going?" He'd keep asking, following her right out the door.
------
Zoe handed the shades over to him with lowered lashes and was very careful to not touch him. "To my date, you're not invited but if you stop being an asshole, we can hang out tomorrow."
------
"You act like I have the plague." She hadn't looked at him once. She hadn't touched him. What was going on.
"Your cheeks are flushed. What the hell you been thinking about?"
------
"I'm just a little.. nervous. I haven't been on a date in awhile." when he pointed out her cheeks were flushed, she looked at him, "I have a cold, okay?" she sort of snapped at him but her cheeks turned an even brighter pink.
------
"That's a lie. I totally rocked your world a few weeks ago." He threw her a wink.
A cold? "Are you trying to lie to me again? That's not a cold flush. You don't even sound croaky."
------
Zoe looked away and almost panicked but okay good he was talking about a few weeks ago, "That wasn't a date."
She seemed annoyed, "I just got it this morning, I'll sound croaky tomorrow. When I see you tomrorrow. As in not right now. So go away." her eyes were darting up and down the street but she wasn't ignoring him.. she was avoiding him.
------
"It wasn't? Candlelight, food and dancing, what was I missing?" He looked perplexed. He'd pulled out all the stops. Whatever she was going out with tonight wouldn't compare.
Greed stopped as they walked on the street, rubbing her cheeks with his thumb. "Somethings on your mind. What is it?" He turned so that he could look up under her lowered face. When she turned it from him again he mirrored her every move. "You thought about me naked didn't you?" He teased, but he was hitting red hot territory.
------
Zoe said the same thing she had before and it was almost like a knee jerk reaction now to say it, "Friends don't go on dates." and they were friends. Nothing more.
She swatted at his hand when he touched her cheek, "Nothing. You're annoying me." she kept turning away every time he tried to get her to look at him but when he said that, she turned bright red like a tomato about to burst and instantly spat out, "I did not!"
------
Greed gasped loudly with a toothy white grin. "You did!" He poked her cheeks again with his finger. Those cheeks of hers were so flush he could feel the heat radiating against his hand. "Wait a minute....was I just naked?" He stopped her walking any further, hands propped on his hips. "Ooooooooo!" He ousted loudly. "You had a sex dream!" His voice pitched at the revelation, embarrassing her more than she already was.
------
Zoe hit his hands away from her face again and when he hit the nail on the head, it looked like she was going to explode, "Would you shut up!" since they were on a very public street and she didn't need it announced to the world. But how did he know..? She gave him a look with wide eyes, "Did you have something to do with this?" she didn't know how immortal stuff worked or magic or whatnot but she'd love to blame it on him.
------
He was practically dancing circles ariubd her in amusement that she dreamed about him. That was a definite step into the right direction. "Was I any good?" He asked coming to a pause halfway around her.
"What? No. I wish. I'm not a dream Genie."
------
Zoe covered her face with her hands as he danced around, "I hate you. So much." like hell she'd tell him anything about the dream. "No, you're just an asshole." she responded and shoved him as she kept walking, cheeks still heated. Uggggh, it meant she dreamed about him on her own and in such a not friendly way. She wanted a bus to hit her.
-------
He checwed on his bottom lip, sucking it between his teeth. "Mmmm girl--" he clicked his tongue in reprimand. "You must have enjoyed it. I've never seen you that red."
He was completely curious about what happened in this dream. It distracted her from the fact that he was following her like a shadow to her destination.
-------
Zoe opened her mouth, raising a finger at him but then she narrowed her eyes, "Know what, I am not going to have this conversation with you." she gave her head a little shake, the earrings swaying as she tried to take a dignified approach and not let him bait her but her eyes quickly looked away from him as she kept walking.
------
"You're right. It's not the right time." His smile grew, "its the perfect time!" He rubbed his side up against her. "Was I on top or you?" He could see her cheeks practically melt right off. Her nose could match Rudolph.
------
Zoe was surprised when she thought he was going to drop it but of course he wasn't. He was going to harp about this for years. She wriggled away from him when he rubbed up against her, that was just dangerous. She covered her face with her hands as he insisted on continuing to talk about it and then spun on her heel and poked him in the chest, "It was a stupid dream, let it go!" she put her hands on her hips, "I am almost to my date so you go home." there was a theatre at the end of the block that played old movies and tonight's feature was the classic Hitchcock movie, 'Psyhco' and Zoe's intended destination.
-------
"Oh is this your spot?" He motioned toward the theater entrance, looking all around with a hawk eye for her supposed date. He raised his collar up, stuffing his hands into his pockets.
"Come on," he nudged her with his hip. "It's not stupid if you keep grinning about it." He looked up to the theater sign. "Oooh, that's a good one."
------
Zoe nudged him back with some force with her hip, "I'm not grinning about it, you are." she was just mortified beyond belief. If only he knew what had happened in her dream, it turned her red just thinking about it.
"Mm, yes it is, and you can enjoy it at home. On netflix." a shout of Zoe! was heard from the front of the theatre with a guy who could pass for cute despite being nerdy waved at her.
Zoe shoved Greed away from her and then turned with a bright smile to the guy, quickly going over to him, "Thomas.. hi!" the guy put his hand on her lower back, "Movie's about to start you..." he furrowed a brow and pointed at his face while looking at hers, "You okay? Kinda red.." Zoe pressed a hand to her forehead and then smiled, "Allergic reaction, let's go in."
-------
He stumbled into the street with a laugh he couldn't turn off. In the time he composed himself she had run off to her 'date' and inside. That was the twig she was drooling over?
Greed threaded his fingers into his hair, fluffing up those blonde bangs before going to the ticket booth. He was sure to wait around for the lights to dim before he slinked inside with his arms full of candy and popcorn.
-------
Zoe sat next to her date and hoped Greed had just gone home. He'd said he was okay with her dating and she'd made it clear he was not to be a third wheel on these dates. The seats all around them were empty because it was far from a current release but as the lights dimmed and there was no ruckus, she relaxed a little.
--------
It was five rows back that he settled into a squeaky seat. It cried under his weight each time he shuffled around. He made sure each move squeezed the creak in his seat before finally comfortable.
When Zoe lipped her head around he slinked down further hiding his head behind the popcorn bag.
The opening credits started causing him to snicker. Zoe was going to hide her face in her knees the whole time. He was enjoying it so far until he saw an arm branch around Zoe's shoulders. Greed slinked out of his seat a couple of rows closer. Now he was an eagle on that arm.
Greed rubbed his throat starting a coughing fit that could have easily been a husk gone down the wrong windpipe. He held his hand up, slurping down his drink. "I'm okay," he said in a squeaky voice, still trying to hide his big body behind a large popcorn.
-------
Zoe did indeed look around the theatre when the squeaks were incessant but she didn't see Greed so calmed down again. When the coughing fit started, she rested her cheek on her palm, great. Not that many people but of course that annoying noisy person had to come to this showing.
If she was aware of Thomas' arm, she didn't seem to mind it. Thomas turned around in his seat, squinting a disapproving look at Greed but when Greed said he was okay, Thomas turned back around, readjusting his arm around Zoe.
-------
Greed grumbled loudly, slouching his cheek in hand. It was bad enough the twig put his arm around her, even worse was her not moving away from it.
Some time into the movie he moved another two rows up. He kicked up his feet on the seat in front of him, pushing it hard so the loose metal squeaked the same way his previous chair had. The more noise he made the more he kept the pair from having a good time.
--------
The squeaks were driving so crazy, so much so that she turned around, "Can you please--" she said in a harsh whisper and then saw it was Greed. Her mouth closed and her eyes narrowed, the look on her face suggesting she was going to kill him. She mouthed the word LEAVE and pointed at the exit before Thomas could see what was up.
-------
Greed gave Zoe a wave of his fingers. She pointed to the door, he turned and settled into his seat, crossing his legs at the ankle. He wasn't going anywhere. He was however tempted to throw popcorn at her head.
-------
Zoe looked infuriated at Greed and then smiled at Thomas since the man was giving her an odd look. She pointed at the seat next to Thomas and when he looked over, Zoe grabbed the mostly full box of candy they had and hurled it at Greed's head.
When Thomas turned back to Zoe, she looked sad and raised one hand palm up and shrugged, shaking her head. In the next moment, Thomas would move down the aisle to go get them more candy, not knowing how on earth the girl had finished the whole box already.
-------
Little beads of chocolate covered peanuts scattered to the floor as Greed dodged the flying box. His popcorn too landed on the floor. When the date exited the room Greed tossed a handful of popcorn at Zoe's head she more than deserved it now.
"Shuuuuuush!" He expressed loudly. "I'm trying to watch the movie."
-------
Zoe's mouth dropped open as the salty kernels pelted her and she whipped around to glare at Greed again, popcorn in her dark hair. That was it. She grabbed the back of her chair and moved over it so she was one row behind his legs, she shoved his feet off the chair in front of him and then climbed over that so she was standing right in front of him, blocking his view of the screen. She folded her arms across her chest and glared down at him in his seat. Hers was not a happy face.
------
Well he'd expected her to just glare, but when she hurled herself over the seating he tried not to laugh, but there she was standing over him like a parent waiting to scold.
-------
She kept looking at him, "Either you're going to leave or I'm taking Thomas home with me to continue our date there." she raised a brow at him. Not that she'd do anything but it wouldn't be a public area. Though she really didn't want to take the guy home, she didn't know him that well. But damnit, she had to get Greed to leave her alone on dates.
-------
"I came to see the movie. It's a good one." As they talked it still was rolling, neither of them watching it. It was a shame. He'd been waiting to hear her scream at least once.
Zoe however wasn't laughing. He drew his feet down off the seat.
-------
Zoe had seen the movie before so it wasn't as scary though some parts still had her hiding her face. She shook her head, "You're hopeless." she was fully intending on leaving but as she moved to slide past him, she stepped on one of the scattered goobers on the floor, slipping. She grabbed his shoulder as she almost fell on him. Considering the time they went ice skating you'd think fate was almost conspiring to keep her in his arms but Zoe would say fate was telling her she was a goober herself to throw the box of candy at him.
-------
It was something out of the movies. She fell and landed right in his lap. It couldn't be more perfect if her date traipsed in right now.
"Comfy?" He asked taking one of the kernels of corn he'd thrown at her off her shirt.
-------
Zoe let out an oof! and then gave him a dull look when he asked if she was comfy. He was enjoying this and she could strangle him. She was going to get up but of course the creepy music came on and the classic shower scene happened. Zoe gasped and turned her face in towards Greed, her arms going to her chest as she closed her eyes. She'd see Psycho before but never on the big screen and that shit is scary, okay?
It was then of course that Thomas got back, standing at the end of the aisle with an incredulous look on his face, "Zoe...?" Zoe's mouth dropped open and she looked at her date, "This..." she wagged a finger between her and Greed, "..isn't what it looks like."
------
Greed was enjoying this. He hadn't prepped for this particular situation, but he was okay with it. He could only chuckle at her knee-jerk reaction.
"You really aren't good with scary movies." He made sure to drapes his hand over her waist when the allusive Thomas walked in.
"That's a good line isn't it?" He said throwing the boy a wink.
------
Zoe couldn't believe Greed and shoved/slapped at his chest, "You're not helping!" she looked back at Thomas to explain but the guy was already at the exit, her mouth dropped open and she looked back at Greed, shoving his arm off her so she she could get up, "You jerk."
--------
If this was hoe Zoe was going to spend her dates he could get used to it. They would never hang around as long as he---
"Hey, I didn't influence him. That was your request."
-------
Zoe threw up her hands and let out a frustrated noise. She looked at him and dropped her hands forcefully with a huff and stormed off down the aisle. Stupid ex-boyfriend..
