His comment reminded Piper very jarringly of her own mortality. Whatever...magic or higher power or whatever it was that had brought Charles and Jacob back, it would almost surely not be extended to her. She'd be lucky to simply live a century. She gave herself a little shake, concentrating on her cobbler and the sound of Jacob's voice instead.
She turned to Charles and raised an eyebrow. "A playboy, hmm?" she said, her eyes dancing as one corner of her mouth tugged upwards.
