Hermes wasn't going to admit to killing the men to a homicide detective, though he nodded a little when Kat said she felt Victor was heroic. Not because he necessarily agreed, but he was accepting that she thought so.
Victor smiled at Kat when she mentioned it hadn't been a brilliant idea, because he very much agreed. "I just did what I thought was right."
Hermes handed Victor the glass of wine before reaching for his own to sip from it. "And you love my granddaughter?" Hermes asked abruptly, causing Victor to choke on the sip he had just taken.
"Oh- Uhm, we haven't actually discussed the extent of our feelings yet," he said, not wanting the first time he told Kat he loved her to be in front of her grandfather.
