Zoe gave him an equally cutting look back, oh this was going to be a barrel of fun. She put the glass to her lips with both hands like a child and took another big gulp of whatever it was. She couldn't believe-- well she could believe Greed's rudeness. Since when did he give a rat's ass about anyone else and she smiled at the man saying, "Thank you so much.. and Merry Christmas." since it was after all Christmas day. Just because she didn't feel it, it didn't mean others didn't. She sighed and for a moment, since Greed was already up the stairs and couldn't see, all the armor she'd packed on dropped and an infinite sadness flooded her face. She put a hand to her head and then shook her head. She just smiled politely at any questions the man might have had, she had no answers for herself, so she had none she could give him.
She wanted to tell Greed their stuff was in the car but then thought what was the point, they weren't going to be here very long. She started up the stairs painfully and slowly. One hand on the railing, the other hand in a fist with the key in it. Her eyes on the stairs and not on what was waiting at the top of them.
