The food tasted delicious and Victor savoured every bite. For two days he had been far too afraid to concentrate too much on his hunger, but now he was relieved to be eating something.
Between bites, he tried to think about what he wanted to focus on. There was the traumatic hostage situation, or the fact that he had known nothing about the world he lived in, despite being in it for forty years.
In the end, he appreciated Kat's words more than he could say, especially right now. "You are helping, so much.
