Temperance was late getting home from the school that afternoon. One of her students had spent their session in a fit of tears. She'd had to pull teeth to get the girl to talk about a situation that was quite uncomfortable for the poor thing. Temperance wasn't Patience, so sometimes she urged those she talked to to get the point.
For such a festive time of the year the girl (once she'd finally opened up) confided in Temperance of her boyfriend's behavior about a week before that had dire consequences. The girl was practically trembling as she spoke about a night at a drunken party. Those stories were really a dime a dozen, but it didn't make it any less important. With the proper guidance, Temperance had her contact authorities and campus police right away. No human should ever make another feel cheap and unimportant. The boy would be punished rightfully so. She even held the girl's hand during the reporting. She felt better knowing that the boy would think twice before ever forcing himself on another girl. Intoxication gave him no grounds to abuse his relationship. It was an excuse nothing more, and to be quite frank, Temperance did not approve of excuses.
She was tired by the time she came in the door but Kindness' warmth brightened a smile on her face. She embraced her sister sweetly, rubbing her back softly. "You did a marvelous job, sweetness. It looks lovely."
