WHO: Mary Magdalene & Huitzilopochtli WHEN: Tuesday evening (2011-02-16) WHERE: Huitzi's place WHAT: Mary responds to a summons. See, sometimes she is a saint. WARNINGS: language and at least references to cannabilism
The last thing Mary expected she'd be doing with her day was trying to coax a moody Aztec god out of his bedroom like he was a teenager in a snit. Yet apparently that was exactly what she was on her way to do.
When Mary got there his minion-warriors told her mostly the same things they'd already told her over the internet and then led Mary towards the closed bedroom. "Leave this with me," Mary said, shooing them away. "Go make some heart-milkshakes or something." Then she walked over to the door and, after the men were gone, thumped on it half a dozen times. "It's Mary. Open the door."
He was not at all accustomed to this feeling. It wasn't enough he'd been head over heels over a girl he'd never met. When it had worn off, he'd half hoped there could be something.
Yet what had been worse then the utter denial was knowing she was technically an enemy, an agent of darkness, and yet when she'd walked away laughing he'd still felt half his world crumble.
He couldn't deal with rejection well, he couldn't deal with love well. So he'd locked himself up until things made sense again.
Unfortunately his warriors had worried and when the knock came he had half an idea who it was. Either they had dragged Quetzalcoatl to his door or they had called Mary.
With a sigh he opened the door. "What?"

[info]bluehummingbird 2011-02-16 03:25 am UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select He watched her before stepping back. His room was oddly dark, only having a few of his birds in it to keep him company.
He closed the door behind her and sat on his bed, looking up at her. "What?" He was not in a terribly great mood, and it showed.

[info]gospel_of_mary 2011-02-16 03:49 am UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select Mary stepped inside and waited for her eyes to adjust to the change in light. She could see some of the birds as things became clearer and she looked over to where Huitzi had sat. "Your men are worried about you."

[info]bluehummingbird 2011-02-16 03:57 am UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select "Yes. Well, you can assure them I'm fine. No reason to be here." He was pushing people away, not wanting an experience like that again. It had been worse enough the last time, not it had felt like his entire heart had been broken. He didn't like it.
He picked up one of his blades and toyed with it, very much not looking at her.

[info]gospel_of_mary 2011-02-16 04:01 am UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select "Except assuring them that you're fine would be a lie," Mary said, her arms crossed as she watched him.
With a sigh she moved to sit down beside him, watching her with a little bit on concern. "What happened?"

[info]bluehummingbird 2011-02-16 04:09 am UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select "I do not care." He felt the bed shift with her weight and went quiet at the question for a while. "I do not know. Yesterday all I could think of was of a girl I had never met. Everything revolved around her. Then today it all fell away. She left, mocking me as she went."
He sighed, "I am not used to feeling so strongly, then see it all be ripped away. I do not like it."

[info]gospel_of_mary 2011-02-16 04:17 am UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select Valentine's Day love crazy had been going around; Mary had seen mentions of it on the blogs but she didn't know Huitzilopochtli had been affected. "It was a love spell," Mary told him. "Some god messing with people's emotions. It wasn't real."

[info]bluehummingbird 2011-02-16 04:26 am UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select "Oh." He ran his fingers through his hair and laid back down on the bed. "I still do not like it. I do not like having my motions toyed with so much. I do not like that I am weak enough where it affected me. I do not like how much I enjoyed it."

[info]gospel_of_mary 2011-02-16 04:33 am UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select "It's okay to enjoy love," Mary said gently, moving a little more onto the bed so that she was comfortable. "There's no crime in that, in gentleness, or passion, or affection. It's fucked up when it's all because of a spell though."

[info]bluehummingbird 2011-02-16 04:37 am UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select "Says the woman who keeps trying to have sex with me." It was perhaps cruel to say, but he did not mean it as such. Not entirely. He set his hands over his eyes and sighed. "I hate it when others point out how I am fading."

[info]gospel_of_mary 2011-02-16 04:41 am UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select "I know what I like," Mary just said with a shrug. She felt no shame (most of the time) over her sexual desires.
Mary wanted to tell him that the Greeks were fading as well so they were on equal footing, but it didn't seem like it would be helpful. "Hopefully someone will hang the guilty party up by his balls. You're not the only one who's angry."

"Why did you come? I assume my warriors contacted you, but why?"

[info]gospel_of_mary 2011-02-16 05:02 am UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select His words there actually hurt somewhat and she pursed her lips. "Glad you think I'm that shallow," Mary said, trying to hide the offense but failing. "And I came," Mary informed him, "because I was worried about you. They told me you were all locked away in your room and usually you're a force of nature."

[info]bluehummingbird 2011-02-16 05:09 am UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select He knew he'd hurt her with his words and studied his nails. [info]gospel_of_mary 2011-02-16 05:12 am UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select "Well," Mary said, "I'm not the world. Is hiding alone making you feel any better?" she looked at him as intently as he refused to look at her.

[info]gospel_of_mary 2011-02-16 05:20 am UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select "I'm known for my stubbornness," Mary agreed with a definitive nod. "Well, I don't think leaving you alone is a good idea and I think that you should eat." She sat up and looked around the dim room. "Have you got any heart in here or do I need to go get some from your men?"

[info]bluehummingbird 2011-02-16 05:30 am UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select "My men probably have some." He knew he was hungry and needed to eat. Yet he remembered her distaste for it. He sat up. "I will get myself something to eat if it will make you feel better. I know you do not like it so I will not force you to endure the sight." Sometimes he could be rather sweet. In his own way.
He rose and opened his blinds, almost wincing to the lights outside.

[info]gospel_of_mary 2011-02-16 07:08 am UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select "I would feel better knowing you've eaten something," Mary nodded, glad she wasn't going to have to bring some fresh beating heart in with her bare hands. Huitzi could think she was as weird as he liked, but she wasn't going to get used to heart eating. "And your boys might stop freaking out if you make an appearance for them, even a temporary one. We can always come hide in your room again afterwards." Already she'd turned it into 'we'. She wasn't going anywhere.

[info]bluehummingbird 2011-02-16 07:15 am UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select He sighed and looked at her, moving closer and setting his hand on her shoulder. "Thank you." He did appreciate her company and her comfort. No one had done such a thing for him. "Stay, I will not be long." With a smile he slipped out of the room, not wanting to make her uncomfortable by making her watch him eat.
Soon her returned, having made sure no blood showed, full but not yet happy. "Better? I've eaten. You can ask them if you do not believe me." He tried to smile, wanting to feel better.
