"Rampaging all through time," she agreed. "It's almost enough to inspire fondness. Almost."
The hostess walked over then and said, "Ms. di Pasquale? Your table is ready, if you'll follow me."
"Excellent," Pride said, rising from her stool and following the woman. Their table was tucked away from most of the other patrons, and that was the way Pride liked it. She had no interest in some random mortal overhearing their conversation and calling the police.
Once they were seated with menus, Pride picked the conversation back up. "Everyone has skeletons, darling, and the bigger they are, the more they have. I hardly even have to do anything at times."
