WHO: Demeter & Hecate WHEN: Near the end of February WHERE: Demeter's apartment WHAT: Greek ladies and their Greek lady love WARNINGS: mentions of sex, probably nothing more?
Demeter had always been a morning person, the sort to rise with the sun. Which became interesting when one was sharing a bed with a goddess of the night. With a smile she looked over at her sleeping friend - and lover - and reached out to stroke some of that black hair off her face. But she stopped at the last moment and curled her fingers back, deciding she didn't want to wake Hecate yet. Instead she slipped quietly out of the bed and went to do the things that needed to be done.
When she returned to the bed a couple of hours later, the smell of baking bread had filled the apartment and she slipped beneath the sheets after shedding her robe. "Good morning," she whispered, kissing Hecate's warm shoulder.

[info]torchywitch 2012-03-14 03:37 pm UTC (link) Track This Hecate's schedule was usually night based. It enabled her to spend time with her mother, and she was just more powerful during those times. But when she was with Demeter, she woke during the day. Although she wasn't ever of much use during the daylight hours.
But she did a lot for the people she loved, and this was nothing different.
So she smiled when Demeter kissed her awake and curled closer to the other goddess. "Mornings are evil." She could smell food though and it would get her out of the little cove of heat she'd built out of the blankets. "But hi. I smell tasty breakfast."

Demeter had been up and busy, but Hecate was still warm and soft from sleep and Demeter ducked her head to Hecate's throat and laid a kiss there.

[info]torchywitch 2012-03-14 03:52 pm UTC (link) Track This She smiled to the kiss and curled closer, setting her hand on Demeter's skin. So many assumed she was virginal, but she'd left it behind a while ago. "Damn." She yawned and snuggled closer, glad for the love she had from Demeter. She was fortunate to have so many.

[info]torchywitch 2012-03-14 04:09 pm UTC (link) Track This Laughing she returned the kiss, "that's ironic considering what I am. But I'm glad to have brought you some comfort." Technically she ought to be at Persephone's side, but the Iron Queen would call her if needed and Hades liked fussing over his wife himself. She let him have it. "You make me happy too Demeter. When it's spring you can call me too you know." Grinning she winked before making herself sit up before she'd fall asleep again. "I'm going to go eat the bread. It smells tasty."

[info]thesmophoros 2012-03-15 03:50 pm UTC (link) Track This The sheer mention of Spring - so close now that she could taste it in the air - Demeter's smile grew even wider. Persephone was coming back to her. Persephone would be here, her spring daughter, and Demeter would be complete again. This space inside that died without Persephone would be filled again.
"In the spring I'll even having nothing to weep on your shoulders about," Demeter told her with amusement at herself. Already it was getting hard to feel that cold darkness and to remember what it was like to desire the cold, creeping death of all that grew. For the last few weeks the urge to create and to grow had been filling her.
Hecate sat and Demeter stood up, moving to take Hecate's hands and pull her out of bed. "Come then," the earth mother laughed. "Let me feed you. I went to the store this morning and it looks like a harvest festival in my kitchen."

[info]torchywitch 2012-03-15 04:09 pm UTC (link) Track This Smiling she let herself be pulled up. Diplomatically she said nothing about the seasons. She worked for Persephone during the winter months, but she liked Hades. So she didn't take sides. It was just easier that way.
"Ironic," smiling she found a robe and put it over herself. What shame she'd had she'd lost a long time ago, but she didn't want to get cold. As she followed she tapped her fingers on her leg, smiling as Hekuba came near. The spectral underworld hound she had was stuck in that realm, but Hekuba was a favorite and she never went anywhere without the canine.

[info]thesmophoros 2012-03-19 05:52 pm UTC (link) Track This Demeter didn't mind the hound being with them in the apartment - the landlords may have had differing opinions on that, but what they didn't know wouldn't hurt them. They didn't know about the snakes Demeter often had living in the apartment either.
She drew her own robe back on but with only Hecate there she let it hang open, the motherly curves of her body already well known to the other goddess.
"Sit, sit," she told Hecate with a smile, pulling out a chair at the food-laden table. (She couldn't resist running a hand through Hecate's dark hair for a moment before sitting down herself.) "What do you plan for the rest of your day?"
