Krishna poured a cup of tea for Datura as she stepped away, then a cup for himself. He loaded his with as much sugar as possible, and was stirring it when she returned.
He took the frame and smiled when he looked back to her. "You're very beautiful." He propped the picture up on the table, looking from it to her and back again. "I changed on my last trip as well. I suppose it's much like returning to a physical center. A point of origin. We're purer there."
He took a sip of tea. It was overly sweet, exactly how he'd wanted it. "I think I can help with that. This," he said, using a hand to motion to her face, then his, "is a mask we're given. Our authentic selves are always within us. We just need to awaken yours."
