WHO: Mary Magdalene & Huitzilopochtli WHEN: Wednesday afternoon (2011-03-23 ) WHERE: Havasu Creek, Arizona
Four days ago they had been at Barringer Crater where Mary had proceeded to spend far too much time discussing the Pleistocene epoch whether Huitzilopochtli cared or not. Mary loved the whole study of paleontology, the idea of this massive creatures walking the land she now walked. Mary wasn't sure how much of her love of it came from the fact that dinosaurs were completely outside of what the Catholic Church taught.
Besides, dinosaurs were just plain brilliant.
So she talked brightly about the layers of sediment along the crater, about how at this time the country would have been dusted with snow, about the giant sloths and woolly mammoths and sabre-toothed cat that roamed the land.
Now the two of them were back along the Colorado river, Mary avoiding the most mountainous regions because she wasn't sure her body was ready for that. Instead they trekked across the flat deserts, enjoying each other's company.
Mary thought she might have been enjoying Huitzilopochtli's company too much. What they had was bound to get complicated, and for Mary is was already feeling that way. Huitzilopochtli complicated her.
But now they'd reached Havasu Creek Falls, the whole reason she'd first come on this journey. From the break in the trees she looked across at it with a smile. "Oh wow," Mary said, looking at the vibrant blue water and falls ahead of them. She grinned at Huitzilopochtli and hurried forward, pulling off her bag. The clothes followed and then she was in the water, laughing brightly.

[info]bluehummingbird 2011-03-23 04:56 pm UTC (link) Track This HE didn't get the appeal of dinosaurs. Logically he knew they existed before the Gods had, but it was odd to remember that when he remembered making and re-making the world. He let Mary talk, content to listen and learn. He'd half regretted not knowing the animals she spoke of. They'd have been interesting.
While the desert wasn't really his area, he was still too used to rainforests, it was nice to just walk.
When they came to the falls he had to agree with Mary's comment. It was breathtaking. He followed at a slower pace, finding a rock to sit down on and keep her clothing and bag close. He'd let her swim. He never learned and didn't think pulling a drowning sun god out would be the highlight of anyone's day. He was happy enough to let her enjoy herself.

[info]gospel_of_mary 2011-03-24 02:24 pm UTC (link) Track This It never even occurred to Mary that the Aztec couldn't swim. She just assumed he had no interest in it. When she finally came out of the water she was still smiling, and she whipped her hair at him and then shook herself down like a wet dog because it entertained her to get him wet. Then she grinned, looking down at him where he sat.

[info]bluehummingbird 2011-03-24 02:29 pm UTC (link) Track This He held up his hands with a smile as she gt water all over him. It felt nice in a way, but it still made him shake his head. He looked up to her with a smile, "done?" He extended his hand, "here, let me help you dry."

[info]gospel_of_mary 2011-03-24 02:49 pm UTC (link) Track This Mary smiled at him deviously. "You just want to run your hands over my naked body," she teased, her hand sliding slowly down her belly as she watched him.

[info]bluehummingbird 2011-03-24 02:58 pm UTC (link) Track This He watched her hand, before smiling at her. "Yes. That too." He was honest to a fault. Lying didn't serve him any purpose. "I imagine you cannot find too much fault there. You did jump into the water without thought for a towel."

[info]gospel_of_mary 2011-03-24 03:12 pm UTC (link) Track This "I was planning to just let the sun dry me," Mary told him and then remembered with some amusement that he was the sun and grinned. Then she leaned down to kiss him, her skin still cool from her time in the water.

[info]bluehummingbird 2011-03-24 03:23 pm UTC (link) Track This Chuckling he returned the kiss and set his hands on her sides, letting his warmth sink into her skin. "I know you mean the one up there, but this one will be happy to do it as well."

[info]gospel_of_mary 2011-03-27 07:51 am UTC (link) Track This "Hmmm," Mary replied, lips against his, "this one is closer and warmer." She shifted, slipping to sit on his lap with a grin, not caring that she'd just be getting him wetter.

[info]bluehummingbird 2011-03-27 08:02 am UTC (link) Track This With her so close and her lips against his he far from cared himself. Smiling he ran his hands up her back, giving her the warmth he could and drying her skin.

[info]bluehummingbird 2011-03-27 08:15 am UTC (link) Track This He smiled at her, bringing his hands up to run his fingers along her features. "Yes. Very much. I am too used to city life. I am not a God of steel and glass. This, this is where I feel half myself again. Thank you."

[info]gospel_of_mary 2011-03-27 08:23 am UTC (link) Track This "You're welcome," Mary told him, slipping her hands up inside his shirt. "Am I going to get you to come swimming today, or will you evaporate all the water like the sun?"

[info]bluehummingbird 2011-03-27 08:32 am UTC (link) Track This He far from minded the touch, setting his hands on her shoulders before chuckling at her question. "I do not know. Chances are you'd drag a drowned God out of the water. I cannot swim. Never learned. I can go into the water to where I can stand, but no more."

[info]gospel_of_mary 2011-03-29 07:54 am UTC (link) Track This She wanted to be shocked that he couldn't swim, but what use would he have for it? Mary had never learned until she came here either. She drew herself up from him. "Get naked," she told him with a smirk. "I'll make sure you don't drown."

[info]bluehummingbird 2011-03-29 01:43 pm UTC (link) Track This He let her go and smiled at her, "demanding." But he did as she asked and removed his clothes. Shame was not a word he'd ever know. He walked to the water and stepped into it, feeling it warm at his presence. "This place reminds me of Tlaloc's temple." He did miss his closest friend and often hoped the God would find his way to the city.
