"I'll help you with it then," Jessie told him. It was easy to be the practical one. All she had to do was remember the way people did it for her. "And soon enough you'll be marathoning."
She smiled as he looked at the cake. "It's cute, isn't it? I'm glad it doesn't have to be tossed out." She wished that she could just give away the food that didn't get sold at the end of the day, but there were all sorts of legal issues surrounding that. So the options were take it home herself, throw it out, or (in this case) find willing friends.
"Let's see what we've got," Jessie said, taking a look in the cupboards and the fridge, mentally putting something together as she did so.
