Jessie listened to his words and just nodded, because that all sounded so familiar to her. No one had kidnapped her and she couldn't even imagine what that was like, but she knew not having the stomach for food because of emotional pain. If people hadn't forced her to eat after the deaths of her brother and daughter, Jessie would have completely wasted away.
"Okay," Jessie said, "this is what we're going to do. We're going to replace some of that coffee you've been drinking with fresh fruit juice so we can at least get some vitamins into you. And I'm going make you something to eat - something small and simple and you're just gonna eat it, bite by bite, as slow as you need to. Food's going to make you feel better."
