Euterpe couldn't really justify that amount she'd spent on her dress, nor the money she'd spent having her hair professionally curled and teased and pinned to make it match it right. She should have gone with a wig, was what Euterpe thought as she watched herself in the rear-view mirror of the taxi. She should have been blonde to make it all proper.
Euterpe was a little late (having got distracted on the way by a busker on a recorder) so when she swept into the lobby of the hotel and say Wolfgang she was apologising right away. "I'm so sorry I'm late! There was a man playing music in the street and I just can't pass them by - have never been able to! - and he was doing these thirties songs and it was such a blast from the past and- Oh, you look wonderful, Wolfgang! I hope I haven't left you waiting too long?"
