"It's not you I'm worried about, it's him." Patience frowned. She wasn't getting what he was trying to tell her. "I still don't think you truly understand. You did see the news the other night, didn't you?" He didn't shake her hand off, but it took him a long moment before he took her hand in return. He stayed silent a long moment, then glanced up at her.
"Do you want me to show you what it feels like? So you'll know if you're being tampered with?" he asked, his last ditch attempt at giving her some sort of defense. "It won't be permanent, I promise."
