That did sting. Not real? She had preached this idea that he was a person. Treated him more like one than he had ever experienced before---and then she told him he didn't exist? There was greed in everything, even in good intentions. When someone thrived to better themselves or push to achieve a goal---that was greed even in the smallest of measure. She had seen him as this guy she claimed to like so much only to throw him away. Well, he didn't like that feeling. Not one bit. Forget that he did the same all the time.
"You moved in front of my bullet!" As if that were rational. "I was collecting loot, not bodies." He grumped, angry that she had seriously just denied his existence. "If it hadn't been me, you wouldn't be breathing." He crossed his arms, a spoiled and hurt child. He murdered before if the outcome was necessary, but he wasn't a killer by nature.
