Charles grinned at that, a wide and cheeky smile with his tongue between his teeth. "Hee! That's brilliant! I think Alice believed rabbits would lead her to magical worlds too." Charles tried not to dwell on the fact that it was his own family who had sullied his name.
"They had my best interests at heart," Charles admitted slowly. "They were trying to make my...exploits, we'll call them, seem more innocent. I spent a lot of time with married women," he said, his ears reddening. "They decided it would be better if they changed ages because obviously no one would think anything of me spending time with children." He groaned then and rubbed his eyes. "And even though my journals have been released with the proper information, people still hang on to that damn biography."
