Greed was affecting Zoe, in ways he wouldn't have suspected. But that was the problem, the more she wanted something, the more she tried to get away from it. He was a very beautiful disaster waiting to happen and she was trying to save herself. She moped and sulked and wandered around, even cutting out of her afternoon class early because she couldn't concentrate. She found herself at Rockerfeller center, she liked it there. There were a lot of happy families. Couples. Friends having fun. Sometimes she liked to watch them.
She was beyond surprised when she spotted Greed there and she hung back. She watched him for a few minutes but he seemed to be there alone. Had he been telling the truth about not having a line of girls at his door..? She'd expected him to have his arm around some girl already. Or at least with someone. He was that type, the life of the party, never by yourself type. But he was just sitting there. And without his mouth moving or his smile trying to paralyze her, he looked.. lost. And sorta huffy. She grinned a little when she saw him interact with the little kid and then she moved away, thoughtful.
A few minutes later, Zoe's voice would come from behind him, "For the record.." she started to say, walking around the bench to have a seat next to him, "You shot me down." she had asked him, he was the one that brought up rainchecks. She didn't look at him, just out at the people and took a small bite of a churro she had bought.
