As the scene unfolded Psyche watched in amazement. Either this guy hadn't been in civilization for a long time, or he was completely and utterly insane. She caught a glimpse of Hedone out of the corner of her eye to make sure she was where she had left. When she confirmed her daughter was still safe and doing exactly as she had been told she followed quickly behind this man.
As she approached the door she peered in quietly, rolling pin at the ready and ready to strike. Okay, yelling didn't seem to be working and because he hadn't actually attacked her she felt maybe he wasn't as big a threat as she was making him out to be. He certainly wasn't Poseidon and that had been terrifying enough.
When she didn't see him her eyes swept the room three times before she knelt down to look under the bed. Nothing. And nothing behind the door. The window was still firmly closed. The only place left to look was the closet. Her heart pounded fiercely as she opened the door in a flurry. Just as she raised the rolling pin to strike she finally caught a glimpse of his face. A look of puzzlement showed on her face. "I know you," she said breathlessly, but still unable to quite place him. She still stood ready to strike if need be.
