Most mortals were confused by Jormungandr. Always smiling, yet that sense of not belonging (and especially of giant reptile under his skin) always put them off.
It may not help much he sometimes ate them, and a few of their dogs. But he was an animal and it was what he did.
And unlike most of his kin he had no grudge against the Gods. One of them would kill him, and he'd kill the god in turn, and that was exactly how it was supposed to go. So when he noticed Thor he grinned and walked to him, following him to the foodstand. "Odinson," he called in his own tongue. It was so much easier to speak the language of his people then the English he was trying to learn.
He waved to the man behind the counter, "Odinson I made a friend." Because why wouldn't he share that? Thor wasn't vicious enough to kill someone he wasn't supposed to.
