Her words were coming out in a deluge now and Charles only seemed to catch every third one. Instead, he pulled her into another hug, desperate to calm he down. He hated that his memories had caused this. It was enough that he had to suffer them, but for them to cause poor Cassandra pain- It was too much.
"I'm sorry, I'm so so sorry," he repeated. "I'll keep my silence, I promise." He leaned back and he took her face gently in his hands so she could pull away if she wanted. "Look at me, Cassandra. It's just me here. Just you and me and everything is okay."
