Charles made a bit of a face then. He had a lot more free time recently too and he was just a bit bitter about it. But he should have known it was coming when his house had been broken into and he had gone through the following recovery absolutely alone.
"You and me both," he finally said, giving her a sympathetic look. Then he glanced up at the exterior of the building before letting them both in.
The shop was empty, but on a street that received a bit of foot traffic. The interior wasn't huge, but he didn't think it needed to be. There was room to put glass cases to lock things in, which was handy. And there was a large counter to serve people from. "Well it's small but useable. Display cases could be set up by that wall," he said pointing. "But I would want to paint it. I don't fancy a seafoam green shop!" And he wanted to check out the back storeroom too. "Smells a bit musty, don't you think?"
