Who: J-Pop, Raiden, a little Pop and possibly some Kumori What: Pippa plays a trick on Akito & Raiden! When: Monday night Where: Pippa's apartment Warnings: sparklies~, some fangirling, a bakeneko being unpleasant
Akito sat on the couch in Pippa's living space, his bare feet flat on the floor and his hands on his knees. He'd probably been sitting the same way for a good ten minutes, replaying Pippa's parting words.
"I've invited someone over, love, but I've got a quick meeting to go to! Shouldn't take too long - please keep her entertained while I'm gone! You'll be fine, honest! She's a doll. Gottagoloveyoubye!"
And she'd slammed the door behind her and that had been the end of that. At least the idiot cat had disappeared for a few hours, and Akito could have free reign of the apartment. Since it had followed them home, the cat had set up shop in Pippa's apartment. She'd been slightly annoyed at first, but she was too charmed by the idea of having a pet to play with to give it much thought. All warnings fell on deaf ears. He could have pulled his hair out, he was so frustrated.
He wasn't really sure who, exactly, was supposed to be visiting, and all texts to Pippa were met with silence. So, he waited.

[info]emerald_odyssey 2012-01-24 02:52 am UTC (link) Track This Raiden was ridiculously excited to see Akito's face, to hear his voice. She missed everything that had to do with Japan, it would me marvelous to have a piece of home. Pippa had dolled it up with her promises that he was very handsome, so Raiden had put on her best.
She knocked on the door very politely, waiting patiently with her hands clasped behind her back. This would be fun. With her father some doom and gloom, this could cheer her up as well, brighten her cheeks and give her something to chat to him about later.

[info]jeipoppu 2012-01-24 02:59 am UTC (link) Track This Akito leaned back against the couch when the doorbell rang, looking up to the high ceiling and steeling himself for company. He wasn't particularly fond of other people, didn't spend time with strangers and stuck mostly to his brother's side when he was at home. Pippa was quite a bit more outgoing than him, and not having her available as a social buffer was going to be straining.
Taking a deep breath, he stood up and crossed the room to the door, his bare feet slapping lightly on the hardwood floor. He took one more moment, his hand on the doorknob, before actually pulling it open. He didn't expect to find such a young girl on the other side, and he certainly didn't expect her to be Japanese.
"Ah. Hajimemashite." He paused, blinking. Was she Japanese, or was she Japanese American? Shit. "Hello."

[info]emerald_odyssey 2012-01-24 03:08 am UTC (link) Track This Stepping inside she gave a happy smile, her eyes just thin slits, but bright blue once they opened with the happy greeting. "Konbanwa", she spoke softly with a polite bow. She still had all her Japanese mannerisms. Poseidon hadn't completely ruined her yet, though he still seemed to try. Raiden was under the impression she could get through to him now more than ever. She was one of his only children that actually felt bad toward the situation as it was now. As mean as he'd been, Raiden wanted to be there for him.
Then for a moment she forgot her manners and her mouth dropped. "Kawaii!" He was beautiful!

[info]jeipoppu 2012-01-24 03:17 am UTC (link) Track This Akito kept blinking. He wasn't entirely sure what to think at the moment. He had the sense to shut the door abruptly behind her. He was sure it looked rude, but he really just wanted to keep the cat-monster out.
"Ah..." Hm. So maybe she was Japanese. He bowed his head slightly. "Akito desu." He'd stick with being polite, because he wasn't sure how else he was supposed to act around her. He wasn't aware of her relationship with Pippa, and so being formal was the best bet.

[info]emerald_odyssey 2012-01-24 03:28 am UTC (link) Track This It was uncommon for Japanese to have such crystal blue eyes as herself unless they used contacts, but Raiden's eyes were very much real and otherworldly. They had dimmed a little since Poseidon lost his titles, but the girl refused to let the broken connection bring her down. He was still her daddy.
Her face brightened as she looked him over. He was familiar, but she could not put her finger on it. Her lips turned to an 'o' shape as she ogled him, talking in her native tongue very fast and not at all with her proper decorum. She was in awe.
"I'm Raiden!" She beamed.

[info]jeipoppu 2012-01-24 03:32 am UTC (link) Track This His eyes widened slightly. She was very energetic, and Pippa wasn't here to buffer. He was afraid he was going to be too off-putting, but any attempts to be overly friendly would be disingenuous and would quite honestly look wrong on him.
"Pippa's stepped out," he said suddenly. "She should be back shortly." Then, almost mechanically, "Would you like something to drink?" He at least could take comfort in the fact that if he spoke Japanese, he didn't sound nearly as abrupt as he did in English.

[info]emerald_odyssey 2012-01-24 03:39 am UTC (link) Track This She was the opposite of her fellow halfling brothers and sisters. Very much some mutant branch of Poseidon's seed. It was abnormal that she was the wrong end of happy to be one of his, but she couldn't help her optimistic personality. Her mother's lies had done her wrong, made her very innocent, but in the long run she wanted to rub off some of that positive energy on those around her. Even her father. She was very in love with the idea of continuing to treat him with kindness, and to anyone she came across. She was a radiant personality which was entirely of her own make, that was what made her special.
So, Akito's standoffish behavior couldn't be anything nearly as rough as what her own father had said to her. Despite herself she couldn't control concealing that fact either, even with his titles gone. "My father is Poseidon," her smile grew, giving him an clue as to why she may have been so foreign even to her native country and people.
"Yes, please!" She hopped on her toes twirling around when she caught the glimpse of something furry run across the hall. "You have a cat?!" Completely disregarding anything he had said to her about Pippa.

[info]jeipoppu 2012-01-24 03:43 am UTC (link) Track This "I'm not aware of who that is," he admitted, still unsure of other immortals outside of his own island.
"There's really only water," he said, crossing to the kitchen, "or energy drinks. I'd recommend against them, though. Pippa drinks them, bu--"
He spun around at the exclamation, his eyes wide. Since when? He hadn't even noticed the damn thing come back in, and certainly there weren't any windows open for him to climb through. So, he must have come through when Akito had let the girl in. "Don't touch that cat," he said, his voice suddenly dark. "I mean it."

[info]emerald_odyssey 2012-01-24 03:53 am UTC (link) Track This He mentioned water and she went off on a tangent. "He's the king of the oceans! In Greek mythology! Don't you know Greek mythology?" she asked hoping that even speaking of her father in such a way would rub off on him.
Raiden had already moved over toward where the cat had snuck in behind the couch. She crouched down and held out a hand. "Why?"

[info]jeipoppu 2012-01-24 04:08 am UTC (link) Track This "I know a small amount." Pippa had told him some, but really, as he was still very young, his world was still so small.
Honestly, what was with woman and this thing? Or maybe it was just women didn't listen to him. "It's a bakeneko," he announced, hoping she would at least heed the warning. "Pippa refuses to believe such a thing exists."

[info]emerald_odyssey 2012-01-24 04:18 am UTC (link) Track This She reached out her hand a little further, motioning with her fingers for the pretty creature to come out of hiding. She made a clicking noise with her tongue, saying meow in Japanese a few times but the creature stayed behind the couch.
"He's an old god. Pippa said you're like them? An immortal?" She sat up when the kitty refused to come out.

[info]jeipoppu 2012-01-24 04:28 am UTC (link) Track This Akito wanted to scream 'DON'T TOUCH THE FUCKING CAT,' but he refrained, as he'd refrained so many times with Pippa. Instead, he settled with setting his mouth in a thin line as he went about getting glasses of water. Perhaps he set the glasses down on the counter a bit too hard. His brother always did say he was the more passive-aggressive of the two.
"We're...similar, I suppose. Pippa and I are probably not like your father. We're made of music. We're also not old; I'm even younger than Pippa is. I'm more a Japanese contemporary of her, though my roots are different."
He rounded out of the kitchen and handed her a glass, making sure he was aware of where the cat was. He refused to address it by any name. It was just 'stupid cat.' "The root dynamic is complicated. I'm sure you're aware. Pippa has mentioned that the Greek tree is similar."

[info]emerald_odyssey 2012-01-24 06:06 pm UTC (link) Track This "He's a little out of sorts right now, Otousan, but I'm on a mission to cheer him up!" She smiled brightly, almost some kind of strange reincarnation of a bouncy anime character. Raiden took the glass he offered with a small squeaky noise. "Arigatou."
It was then that the cat bounded out from behind the couch to rub against the young girl's legs. She was very pretty. Young, also of their make, but there was something different about her. Bakeneko didn't think about others. She would be an interesting form to take, but until he figured out the strange aura that surrounded her he would play it safe. He moved over to Akito, rubbing his side against his legs just to watch him dance around.

[info]jeipoppu 2012-01-25 04:12 pm UTC (link) Track This "You seem to be the sort of person that excels at cheering others up. I'm sure he'll be back to himself in no time."
He stood and sipped his water, ignoring the cat until it touched him. He bristled slightly, but only regarded it with a flat stare. "Baka. Go bother someone else, baka neko." He was steadfast in his mission to have absolutely nothing to do with the beast.

[info]emerald_odyssey 2012-01-25 04:16 pm UTC (link) Track This "Mmmm," she said holding the water between her hands and sipping softly. "Soon." It wasn't her place to tell her father's business to others, so she kept it to herself as to what was really going on.
"You really think this cute little guy is a big bad monster?" she scratched the cat's ear which he returned with a loving purr. To Akito he ran up and attacked his leg with a few batting paws.

[info]jeipoppu 2012-01-26 02:18 pm UTC (link) Track This "I don't think," he said, watching the cat with a critical eye. "It's the vibes I get from it. Hard to explain…he feels old, and like home. I made my own conclusions from there."
The cat batted at him, but instead of dumping his glass of water on its head (like he impulsively wanted to), he pushed it away with his foot. "Go wait for Pippa. Somewhere else."

[info]kaijin_neko 2012-01-30 02:51 am UTC (link) DeleteTrack This The cat kept his own eye on the pretty man. A hiss, a growl and the heavy dismiss of his tail. Without a word Raiden scooped up the cat, petting his head lightly as she cupped her hand around his belly. The cat's mood immediately changed, purring loudly against her gentle rubs. He liked this one. She could be fun. Kumori grinned.
"He seems harmless," Raiden said. It may have been the power of Poseidon behind her that kept her from running scared. If this was what Akito said it was, then treading carefully was more than a warning. The cat's face was just so adorable it was hard for her to think otherwise.

[info]jeipoppu 2012-01-30 01:25 pm UTC (link) Track This "Of course he does," Akito replied plainly. "If you think about what he is, of course he does. To you."
It was at that moment that Pippa chose to make her grand entrace, swinging the front door open with the sweep of a hand, her purse hung from the crook of her elbow.
"Hello, my darling, hello!" Her face was bright, filled with a smile, and she used the toe of her boot to shut the door behind her. "Oh, Raiden, you made it! Wonderful. Did you two have fun while I was gone? What did you talk about? Akito, were you absolutely surprised, darling?"

[info]kaijin_neko 2012-01-31 04:33 pm UTC (link) DeleteTrack This At Pippa's intrusion the cat continued to lay perfectly still in Raiden's arms, sniffing her, attempting to get as close as possible. It was almost as if he wanted Pippa's jealousy. Since she'd taken him in he'd been right up to her heels, following her wherever she went, being a pet. Right now he was using very human characteristics on this pretty little girl that had come into the picture.
Raiden beamed with a bright smile. "Hi!" she said padding over. "He's very beautiful!" Though she wasn't sure who she meant. Akito or the cat.
