Who: Melanie and Triton
What: Mel just wanting some bf company after losing her good-luck charm.
When: Sunday night, April 18, 2011
Where: Melanie's place
Warnings: TBD

She'd lost the pendant Hades had given her and that had set the poor girl into a frenzy for the last few days. She'd hoped as Triton had confirmed Poseidon had been sick the week before that the old god was just too weak to be out stalking her. Maybe he'd even forgotten. Taking a deep breath and a cup of tea in her hand she paced the living room floor until Triton appeared. She just didn't feel like being alone tonight.

It seemed to take longer than usual, or she was just looking at the clock ever second that passed. What was probably only a few minutes felt like ten. Melanie sighed flopping down on her couch curling her legs up under her Indian style and cuddling the cup to her chest while it cooled off. It wasn't cold outside but for Melanie hot glass of Earl Gray tea always calmed her nerves.

Mel had said she felt uncomfortable, so he had changed plans to meet with her. He knew his family, and knew it couldn't be easy being in her shoes. He would try with all his might to make sure he could comfort her.

After opening the door he smiled and walked up to her, setting a hand on her shoulder. "Hey, love."

She hadn't even heard him come in she'd been so focused on her thoughts. It made her jump slightly but calm once looking up and realizing it was only Triton.

"Hey," she said in a meek voice taking a deep breath and feeling comfortable once more. "I didn't hear you come in."

He smiled at her and went to sit beside her, setting one arm around her shoulders. "On occasion, I am quiet." He looked to her, "You alright? Not that I mind the company but it seemed you were a little stressed."

She snuggled up next to him setting her tea down on the living room table, drawing her knees up close. Her head fell against his chest just breathing in his presence before bringing up the fact that she'd lost her charm.

Mel's fingers curled against his shirt drawing invisible patterns against his chest.

"I just wanted company."

"Alright, then my company you'll have." He smiled at her and picked up the remote, flipping the television on. "Let's see what's on today huh?" He always made sure she was at ease, especially now she knew about him and his family. He was grateful enough she still let him see her. Many girls would have run.

Melanie sighed heavily comfortably laying her head into his lap as he switched through channels. She didn't care what they watched, so long as he was there and made everything else settle.

She could have run, but Melanie had never known Triton (be he as a immortal god or as her ex-boyfriend) to lie to her. He'd always been honest, something she was horribly disgusted with herself for giving up when he'd moved in too quickly.

Now she felt like a burden. Far more on edge than she ever remembered being, skittish because of events that had taken place, she didn't want him to feel like she was something he had to look after all over again. She'd had that all her life, and as much as she'd worked to get away from it and be independent, there was a settlement in that feeling.

"I'm sorry if you had other plans," she finally spoke.

He let his fingers toy through her hair, doing his best to calm her and enjoying the ability to just do so. When she spoke he looked down to her and smiled. "No plans. I was going to sit at my home and try and ignore my sister. This is a much better option."

"Nothing at all," she settled before flipping over so she could see those pretty eyes. "We're alone here," she said biting her bottom lip. The last time she'd seen him had been with his mother, and the time before she'd gotten the inquisition from his sister.
