Who: Samson and Delilah What: So hi I got you killed When: Tuesday Where: Random coffee-shop Warnings: Probably language Note: Reposted as a favour
For all appearances, the shop was not one you would expect someone like her. She was one to often go to high class establishments, where over priced food was dished out. But it was why she liked it. She didn't have to be entertainer, and could be something like herself.
No one knew who she was here, and it was rather nice. The atmosphere was friendlier then the ever present 'I am better then you because I have more money'. And she didn't have to pretend to be interested. She'd picked out a table near a window and brought a book.
She didn't have an appointments so she was allowed to relax. Funny how far she had to go to achieve that.

[info]blind_leader 2010-11-30 11:14 am (local) (link) Track This The city was a lot busier than he'd expected, then again Samson didn't really know what he'd been expecting. The world wasn't made for blind people, or even those with slight cataract like himself. It was something he'd obtained since being reborn, it was just another obstacle to get around. His God had not forsaken him, it was only to make him stronger inside to match the strength he held on the outside.
Samson had left Hebe to dine with her mother for lunch. After the awkward reunion with her husband at the airport, what with the tension he could sense he felt it best to let Hebe have a little time to herself before they met back up later at the hotel they were staying at.
When he walked into the coffee shop he could immediately sense another like himself, that aura mildly intimidating. He didn't bristle but continued to the counter to order his drink.

[info]darkdelilah 2010-11-30 11:42 am (local) (link) Track This Her spine straightened as she felt that familiar feeling of immortal nearby. It was more familiar, from the same area as she was. She set her book down, expecting to find a being like Satan who would either terrify her or lecture at her for her 'evil'.
Her fingers found the star of Ishtar she wore around her neck and it helped remind her she now served a different goddess, and their judgment meant nothing to her.
He looked vaguely familiar so she set her hands down and studied the man. She did so until the counter clerk called her name and she blinked, only smiling when he held up her order.
She rose and moved to the counter, taking her order with another smile. "Thank you. Any pastries there for me?" She still knew how to get things from others. Her skills of persuasion hadn't lessened and she cared not what this man thought of her. The Christians would always judge her. She was used to that.
"Something sweet dear, and terribly bad for me. You only live once after all. I'll pay for it tomorrow."

[info]blind_leader 2010-11-30 12:21 pm (local) (link) Track This Something in this voice struck him as familiar when he felt her presence press against his mind. His other four senses were very keen, so he studied her himself as she spoke.
His drink was soon to follow as there was no longer a line for the clerk to wade through. When Samson took hold of his coffee he near dropped it when the wires in his brain clicked. Sultry, she smelled sultry. He took his glasses off though he could only fuzzily see her shape and the colors that created those curves.
"Delilah?" he whispered in a questioning voice. He should have been angry, he had been for many years at the fact that he'd let his heart decieve him.

[info]darkdelilah 2010-11-30 12:30 pm (local) (link) Track This It still hadn't clicked for her. Not the blindness, not anything. Will full ignorance was a beautiful thing at times. She paid for her sweet and her coffee, tensing only barely.
"That's my name. If you want to do this you can sit at my table." With an indignant sigh she stalked to her table, waiting for him to sit down. "I'm sure I'll hear all about my evils yet again so please enlighten me..." She trailed off as she finally caught sight of his eyes and paled. Her fingers loosened from her cup and she could barely breathe.
"Oh Ishtar it's you." She remembered their final day and night together, when she'd finally learned his secret. He hadn't been such a bad man, not bad enough to warrant the punishment they'd given him.
Quickly she began to gather her things. "I should go."

[info]blind_leader 2010-11-30 12:43 pm (local) (link) Track This He'd been prideful, confident in his own strength that no man could ever know his secret. He'd forgotten the power of a woman, especially one that had been as beautiful as her. He'd grown tired of her questions, getting lost in her arms before he finally gave himself away. He had no idea she'd use him so cleverly, and he should have. He honestly should have.
He followed her to the table, but not because she offered. There was something about her that still mesmerized him even when he knew he should be furious. His hand reached out, clapping down on her wrist and forcing her to stay right where she was.
"No," he spoke with a little more force.

[info]darkdelilah 2010-11-30 01:00 pm (local) (link) Track This The touch almost hurt, and she couldn't blame him for wanting to hurt her. She had her pride though and tensed, "Stop that." Her voice shook only lightly and she stopped fussing, knowing he deserved some answers. The noise of the shop would hide their conversation,
"I didn't know you were here. I would have gone elsewhere had I known. Funny how I never figured that if I'm here you would be as well." She dared to glance at his eyes and winced. "I never meant for that."
She knew he'd argue though, "and before you say anything remember for a moment no one ever tells my side of it. So here it is. I was a harlot, still am, to your people. To what I believe in I am doing a sacred thing. Regardless, I never knew who you was before they spoke to me. I'd heard your name, all of us had, but do you have any idea how frightening it is to be pulled aside and told to do a task?" She bit her lip, "you were just a job, and I had no idea why they offered so much. All they ever said was that I had to find out how to bind you. Girl in my profession, you learn quickly not to ask questions." She lowered her head, "I didn't know what they planned on doing to you."

[info]blind_leader 2010-11-30 01:08 pm (local) (link) Track This He released her wrist slowly, though he'd hardly broken the skin in a bruise. He could have though, there was at least enough threat in that.
His eyes squinted slightly as she explained herself. "I knew who you were," he told her, "and I should have listened to my conscious instead of letting you string me along into assuming you loved me." Had she? That was something he may never know the answer to, and he'd resigned himself to that fact.
"I believe you." Maybe he was foolish to think so.

[info]darkdelilah 2010-11-30 01:19 pm (local) (link) Track This She knew that she still had the fact that they were in public going for her. Few would agree to such behavior. She looked to him and almost laughed, "no you didn't. Don't ever tell me you know me. And I am what I am. I will make no excuses for that."
She took a breath and took her coffee, "I was a whore. And I don't believe in love. I never have." She sipped from her drink and allowed it to calm herself. Slowly she set it down. "You were not a bad person. You were nicer then most men and you seemed to like me." She shrugged, "I was just a pawn Samson. You'd made enemies and were foolish enough to show weakness."
She looked to him, "you had to know something was going on though. What did you think I was doing asking those questions?" She sighed, "for what it's worth, I am sorry. At the end I was starting to like you. I was more then just sex to you and it was different. I never meant to have you hurt."

[info]blind_leader 2010-11-30 01:32 pm (local) (link) Track This "I started to loose my faith in anything but man-made promises." That's when he'd started to backslide. For years he'd held knowledge of his strength as a gift from god, and he'd served his god rightfully. The more he held himself with vigor, in his own accomplishments and beauty, he lost that which made him so special.
He'd gone over his own head, not suspecting that his enemies could defeat him. "Seemed to like you," he laughed, almost eerily. "Delilah, I loved you whether or not you believe in it."
"Maybe I did know. Who was more foolish in the end Delilah? Me for giving you my heart and my secrets or you for taking it for money?"
"You are only as low as you see yourself." Just as he'd been so bold to see himself better than his god. That was Satan pulling him into deceit.
At her apology he stayed quiet, leaning back against his chair, one arm over the back, the other tapping against the coffee cup. Part of him wanted to refuse that apology.
"I forgive you." He had a long time ago. Perhaps he was more compassionate or he still cared for her well-being despite it all.

[info]darkdelilah 2010-11-30 01:46 pm (local) (link) Track This She raised an eyebrow when he forgave her, but it settled part of herself. She smiled, even if he didn't see it. "Thank you, and we were both foolish. Like I said, I will make no excuses about taking the money. I'm a whore Samson and it allowed me to free myself. I could take my own clients and earn my own keep. I never claimed not to be selfish or greedy."
With a shrug she bit into her pastry, finding it easier to treat this like any of her other appointments. "I do not see myself as low. You Christians made me a villain, to teach how one should never trust a woman. It seems to you we're just the bane of evil." She grinned and picked at the pastry.
"I've only ever wanted to apologize, and now I did. It's a burden off my shoulders." She reached out, almost touching him before thinking the better of it and drawing her hand back. "The time certainly does seem to find you well."

[info]blind_leader 2010-11-30 11:32 pm (local) (link) Track This "I never considered you a villain," he admitted though he damn well knew he should have. Even in his anguish he'd still felt something for her.
He could feel the sense of her arm coming forward and the pause, but he didn't say anything on the matter. The good thing about being semi-blind was that the four other senses were stronger. So he reached out for hers instead, laying a gentler hand than he had before.
"I am well. Visiting the city with a friend of mine."
He didn't quite carry the long hair from before, or have that sun-kissed skin, but he was still familiar.

[info]darkdelilah 2010-11-30 11:44 pm (local) (link) Track This His touch was familiar, even though he looked different It brought memories she didn't quite like. The bittersweet was never for her. But she didn't push him away or say something cold. She couldn't.
She was responsible for his death. She owed him.
She gave a small laugh and lowered her head. "Funny, everyone else thinks so." Her voice was quieter, tears almost heard in it. "I never wanted to be." She nodded, "good. I'm glad."
She glanced to her coffee, "there were times I wanted to warn you, but I was afraid and only thought of myself." She shrugged, then pretended at a smile. "I'm doing well myself. I'm still a harlot, albeit a sacred one, and despite the fact mortal man is ridiculous I do quite well."
And now, she would warn him, "Your Devil is here. I met him." She touched the wrist he'd almost crushed. "He's terrifying, so be cautious."

[info]blind_leader 2010-12-01 12:14 am (local) (link) Track This "Maybe no one gave you the chance to be anything else," he said letting his hand squeeze hers momentarily, not quite sure why he was giving her such the warm welcome. He'd learned to live with himself now, there was no justice in blaming another for your own actions. He was as much at fault as she, and there he would take his own blame and not cast an evil tongue at her, though he may have cursed her in the beginning.
"Men have changed," though he couldn't say if it was for the better. Men would always be their own ruin when they turned to false idols and forgot about the one who created them. He had done the same. He wasn't at all surprised when she told him her profession, if it could be called as such. Paying a woman for sex never settled with him. He'd never paid her for her affections then, and he wouldn't have now if given the opportunity---though he was not going to think about that.
His head turned to the side at her next bit of the conversation. "You met him?" he repeated. Through all his own travels Satan had been a mere figurehead, his corruption on mankind in lies, using man himself to do his dirty work.

[info]darkdelilah 2010-12-01 12:22 am (local) (link) Track This She smiled and withdrew her hands. He was more forgiving then she was, but her own Goddess had a swift and terrible judgment. Perhaps he was the better man for being so friendly with her. "They didn't. Your faith likes blaming women. Eve, for one, then me. My emotions are never spoken of, like I'm this cold uncaring thing." She shrugged, "I may be selfish and greedy but I'm no murderer. I would have said something if I'd known their plans for you."
She sighed and looked outside, "in a way this time is better. I'm so much more free now and no one looks down on me. I don't have to bow to anyone." At his next comment she smiled, "yes. Not willingly I broke from that faith. I don't think I ever belonged to your God."
She ran her fingers along her wrist, "he told me I'd always be a puppet to him and your God. Said I'd burn for what I did. And perhaps I will." With a smile she shrugged, "But I don't want to talk about that. Do you live here now?"

[info]blind_leader 2010-12-01 12:39 am (local) (link) Track This Delilah had always been intriguing because of her defiance against what was considered the norm. Even then, down to her beautiful face, one in which he couldn't see anymore---and for him that was probably best. He had a weakness for beautiful women.
He wasn't going to throw out his own views in theology and how she judged far too harshly. It wasn't his place, and he'd never thrown it in her face before. He simply just let her be. She let go of his hand and he let it sit there for a moment, still feeling her fingers within his before he moved it back. "Perhaps you would have, we'll never know though will we?" They were here today because of such stories, and theirs was one of seduction that still intrigued mortals today. It hadn't been about going down in the books, then it was just life.
"I don't. My friend and I are in San Francisco. Though that," he paused not knowing if this was Hebe's words or his own, " may change."

[info]darkdelilah 2010-12-01 12:47 am (local) (link) Track This She shook her head, "no. We won't. What I do know is that I will never be used again. I am no man's puppet." She raised an eyebrow at the friend part but said nothing.
in a way perhaps it was good he had a social life, although she did not know how good of an idea it would be to be in the same city. She'd rather not be a downfall anymore. "I've visited there once. It's very beautiful there. Reminds me of home."
She grew quiet, unsure of what to say. What was there to say between them? What they may have had she'd long ago ruined. "It was good seeing you." She paused a moment and looked to him, "I wish you well Samson." Gently she leaned forward and set her fingertips on his cheek. "You are a good man." Smiling she dared to reach for his hair, "Although I liked you better with your long hair." She smiled at her own joke and rose, setting a kiss on his cheek. "I hope your God keeps you well."
