Who: Maid Marian and Robin Hood
When: Tuesday night
Where: Robin's place
Warnings: tbd
Note: Reposted as a favour
Marian may not be the paranoid type but she had spent a great deal of time glancing out her windows after she had hung up her phone. It wasn't until she was safely inside Robin's apartment hours later that she felt even remotely at ease. She hadn't even bothered eating before she came and had to suppress the urge to rummage through his fridge.
"So there's a little more. I told Guy to tell John everything he knows. I didn't give him more information than he already has. He even said to tell you," she smirked at that. As though Marian hadn't thought of that the moment she'd heard the news that John wanted to know about her. Surely he already knew enough. "Even though we all know how he feels about you and vice versa."

Robin had a plan. He always had a plan even when he hadn't thought it out yet. He wasn't about to let Marian get thrown into the wolves den without any protection. She wasn't a fragile woman, but she was his, therefore he would always aim to keep her safe.
The fact that Gisborne was riding the fence had Robin on the defense. Gisborne's affections to Marian would and had never changed, and if he was playing nice to get somewhere with her, Robin was going to stop it.
The villains were lining up and wherever John was, the Sheriff was soon to follow throwing them all back into their own stories to fight it out all over again.
Marian showed finally and while he could detect her anxiety Robin would remain calm. It's what he did. Shutting the door behind her he encased her into a strong embrace before she started to speak.
"John's a handmaiden's bastard who sleeps his mother's knickers, he's full of hot air, don't worry about it," he ran his hands against the side of her face giving her a charming smile. He didn't want her to worry, he did that enough for the both of him.

Marian blamed her nerves on years of not having to run or defend herself. Nowadays the closest she came to a brawl was on set and those were all staged. None of her fights in the past had been staged, they had all been very real and she couldn't remember the last one.
She had gotten so used to being just Marian that the thought of being thrown (almost literally) back into those times was overwhelming. And she hated that she felt she needed help. But the truth was, even Marian knew when she needed help. If John was asking about her then she needed to man up and put away her pride.
There were times she wished they could just run off to the country and hide away while things cooled off. But she knew that upon returning it would only mean having to return to the very trouble they had escaped for a short time. If worst came to worst she would fight, but she never wished for that.
At least now she could walk about freely. Just being here with Robin made it all the more easy. "I don't think I told you that I ran into him the other night. Well actually he interrupted my quiet dinner, insulted you, whereby I insulted him by essentially saying I would rather listen to silence than have that conversation. He was charming before he started with the insults. He should be happy I didn't deck him." She finally smiled, happy just to be in Robin's arms. "Robin, I wish there was a quiet place we could escape to," she whispered in a moment of peace.

When she said she'd run into him every hair on the back of his neck bristled. He tensed. He didn't care what bullshit stories John tried to paint, Robin was always the victor. Marian was not going to become his play thing. If he knew John's tactics he probably would use her to get to Robin, it wasn't a far fetched tale.
If Robin could steal the man blind, drop that rug out from under his feet, maybe the old coot would remember he didn't rule the country anymore.
He pulled her hair back softly, kissing her on the cheek (as gentlemanly as ever). "I know," and perhaps there was somewhere they could go. He just needed to think.

Marian would fight to the death before she allowed anyone to use her as a play thing. Even Robin if it ever came to that. But she knew that was absurd.
She smiled gently at his actions. From the wealthy perspective she understood where John and Guy were coming from in their hatred for Robin. From her own personal perspective, well it was obviously different and she couldn't help swooning even now. He was a gentleman, whereas John and Guy were rude and crude. She took no liking to such behavior. That didn't mean she dismissed Robin's actions.
"Are we going to stand here like this all night or are we going to come up with a plan? There's plenty of countryside here, and not just in New York," she suggested.

"Marian," Robin said assuredly. "Of course I have a plan," his voice started to trail off a little, "I just haven't thought of it yet." Giant grin.
They could run away, it would feel like old times when he'd lured her into his forest to live. When it meant he could keep an eye on her, protect from danger. He'd never thought in this time that that danger would be lurking so close again.

Marian watched him eagerly. Even if she had been able to take care of herself for the most part, she really did rely a lot on his plans.
"You haven't thought of one?" She didn't sound frantic at hearing this, nor irritable. But she did step back to pace about in thought. She was mumbling to herself. Sometimes movie plots were actually reasonable and after several minutes she turned to look at him. "Let's just go. Go to the country. They've got cabins in the parks, we could rent one for a while."

"Marian," Robin said as calm as ever, it wasn't in his nature to get fussy unless he was absolutely pushed to be. There were a few times he could say he said forget all that you've aspired to be and just be a one man show, it's what made him human, but most times he kept it together even under the most distressing of situations. It did no good to let it sucker punch him.
"I'll take you anywhere you want to go, milady. If it's the country you want, I'll whisk you off your feet," he spoke as he put his arm under the bend of her knees and pulled her off her feet, "and take you away!" It sounded daring enough. Grin.
