Marian was happy her wallet had been found, but at the same time a little annoyed that she had gone through all the trouble of replacing everything. She could have just picked up the phone, but her brain said not to because you never know who's on the other side of an unknown call. She as more annoyed with herself than anything. But that was that and she knew as well as the next immortal that you can't change the past.
Carnegie Deli was one of her favorite lunch spots, so she had agreed to meet this Robert fellow to retrieve her wallet. She would also do a thorough search of the contents tp make sure everything was there. It had taken a lot of hard work to get everything in there and she was not about to let any of it get lost or in the wrong hands!
She was a firm believer in waiting until everyone was there before ordering food. Drinks, though, those were different so she ordered something and sat sipping it as the waitress came back yet again. She smiled politely though there was something there that Marian detected, "Ready to order?" Marian simply smiled apologetically as though that would help, "Sorry I'm just waiting on someone. If he's not here in five minutes I'll order then." And maybe for him if he doesn't hurry up. Ha, a woman ordering for a man. That's something you couldn't do back in the day.
She checked her watch. Countdown to five minutes. If he didn't show then she would order and if he didn't show after another five minutes she'd assume he wasn't coming. At least this wasn't a date. She would have been more annoyed with him than herself. But she could be patient. So she sipped quietly at her drink and glanced at the front every so often.

While Robin had a agenda, it was easy for the outlaw to steer off course for the sake of doing good for others. Helping a little girl across the street while her mother crossed and a car skipped a red light was another mark on his list of good deeds for the day. In return he'd gotten a number from a single woman, a bright white smile and a hug from the little girl.
With a skip to his step, Robin bounced towards the deli he'd agreed to meet Marian. He had to say she'd been on his mind the last week since running into her. They hadn't formally introduced each other as he was certain she was a fellow immortal, but he wasn't going to get his hopes up too high. He had an inkling though.
That toothy grin greeted her as he rushed into the door, finding her fairly easily by that red hair. Oh did he love a woman with red hair, it meant they held a fiery spirit, an attractive feature to the English islander.
"Sorry I'm late," he said out of breath. "Traffic," he pointed out the window with a sympathetic expression.

Even if he was good at helping others it was better he didn't gloat about who he had helped, or when, or where, or anything of the sort. While Marian did like when others extended a helping hand, because let's face it this world is full of pricks, she approved. But she did not approve of gloating. Not that she had any say over what this stranger did. If he wanted to gloat she'd just see him as just that and it would probably knock him down a few pegs in her mind.
However, if she knew just who she was meeting she might have swooned that her dearest Robin was still fighting crime and helping those who needed it. All while being the maid who didn't need saving herself.
She was just about to order when she felt a rush of energy and then a voice to her right. "Ah, we'll be a few more minutes," she smiled sweetly to the waitress who was now clearly irritated. Hey, she'd get her paycheck and there were others to wait on!
She looked back to her lunch companion and shrugged, "It's no bother." She glanced back at the waitress who had moved to the other end of the room, and then said in a low voice, "I thought she was going to explode from impatience. Manners, that's what Americans need." She passed her menu to him since the waitress had failed to hand him one. "Here. I already know what I want."

Robin flashed the waitress a pretty smile hoping to get a sparkle in return instead of that sour look on her face.
He wasn't about to gloat, but there was a sense of pride to doing what needed to be done to protect the little people. The poor, the wretched, the down trodden. That was a tag he would never let fall from his fingers, Robin Hood would forever be the swashbuckling hero.
He checked his watch certain he hadn't been that late, but then again he always knew when to show up at the last minute. The waitress looked back over and he threw her a wink as he looked up from his menu. "I don't know, just takes a little finesse," he spoke gently with a little laugh.

When she waitress didn't smile in return Marian made a face. "Must be a bad day," she said in an undertone.
She smirked, "Finesse doesn't seem to be working on this one. Don't be too upset, we can't all get what we want. Just keep working on it."
She sat back, crossing her legs as she waited for him to look through the menu. "Their short ribs are really good."

"She'll come around," he said pridefully, puffing out his chest a little before throwing down the menu. "I have some charm in me still, don't make me feel too old now." He was lightly tip-toeing into the idea that he knew she wasn't just some ordinary woman. She was like him, the immortal type and he was curious as to who.
"Mmmm, that does sound appealing considering my cooking skills are still pretty primitive. I haven't had some good meat in a long time."

Marian grinned a little glancing at the waitress every now and then. "Yeah, I'm sure she will." Nothing in her tone suggested that's actually what she thought. "Mhm," she said simply, sipping her drink. She wasn't bringing up the fact that she did in fact feel the same thing as he did. It seemed pointless to say Oh do you feel that? because obviously they would be morons if they didn't.
"I usually save those for New Years, when I don't mind stuffing my face." She smirked at the meat comment, "That's what she said." She cleared her throat and smiled politely at the waitress as she returned. Marian ordered the pastrami and egg sandwich. The waitress turned to Robin to take his order.
