Re: Cassandra/Andromache
[info]mydespair 2011-06-28 01:19 pm UTC (link) Track This There was a time when even Andromache would not have believed or trusted the words from Cassandra's mouth. That had been the girls curse but now, after knowing so much more and knowing the truth she couldn't deny anything she said. Those words gave her a chill. They were true, though she wasn't sure she'd call everyone there a lamb and at the thought she glanced at Hector.
Andromache shook her head, "I'm not sure. Zeus and Hera wanted everyone here." So here we are impatiently waiting for them to say whatever it is they want to say.

[info]speakingtruth 2011-06-28 01:41 pm UTC (link) Track This The King and Queen they were, but not Cassandra's. She would take no orders from Gods, though she feared them terribly.
After looking around the room, Cassandra grabbed onto the older woman's arm tightly. (Their age by now meant little difference, but despite the centuries Cassandra still felt little more than a child. She had never grown beyond the teenage girl that she had been then.) When she spoke her voice was hushed and desperate. "The flowers all have wilted, and there is nothing there now but death. This night bring colder winds and gods keep spinning out of orbit. It begins and it ends and not even the stormbringer's words will halt it."
She would try to run away, but there was little use. One couldn't run from the Gods or from Fate. She had said her piece and that was all Cassandra could ever do.

[info]mydespair 2011-06-28 01:56 pm UTC (link) Track This Andromache had a very similar outlook on the gods. They had ultimately been the ruin of their beloved home. Of those they loved. Of Hector. She didn't trust any of them. She wished Hector would finish his conversation (or whatever you wanted to call it) with Achilles and come wait with them.
She didn't mind at all that her sister held onto her as tightly as she did. In fact, Andromache seemed to leaned in slightly as she placed her hand gently onto Cassandra's. Just as Hector she too had a strong desire to protect the sister who had been so wronged in the past. Andromache still felt guilt for those days. She looked at Cassandra and though it was difficult gave her a gentle smile and spoke in as calm a voice as she could muster, "We'll leave as soon as they've spoken. Then we can have some peace at home with Hector."

[info]speakingtruth 2011-06-29 02:16 am UTC (link) Track This Cassandra felt quite sure that even by then it would be too late. She looked up at Andromache with wide, innocent eyes and said, "I have to go," quite simply. She drew her hand away from the other woman's and then slipped from her side completely, walking through the middle of the crowded room.
She passed by Gods that felt like nothing more than shadows to her, until she reached the Golden One, the Cursing Sun, her Lord of Plagues himself. It was the first time she had seen him since Ancient Greece, since he had made every word from her lips a lie and doomed her city. All ill fate that had come upon Cassandra could be traced back to Apollo.
Cassandra said nothing at all, merely waited for him to take notice.
