It was odd how one thing could completely change your perspective. Just a few days ago, she'd hardly been able to make it to her couch. Now, she wasn't completely well and still had her moments where the splinters became too bright, but she had a reason to get better. She had someone to fight for.
And Euterpe would be here, living with her and she needed her little sister. Her songbird always made her feel better and while Clio could not play favorites amongst the Muses, she'd always been close to Euterpe.
So she'd dressed in a warm coat with multiple layers underneath as she waited for her sister to step out to the gate. She was smiling brightly, almost bouncing on her feet as she waited. She hoped everything had gone well for her sister.

Euterpe had enjoyed her flight, spending the whole of it immersed in her iPod while it skipped through her massive collection at random, sending the Muse whiplashing happily between musical genres. It was only when getting off the plane that she finally pulled out the earphones that lived almost permanently in her ears (cutting short La vendetta from The Marriage of Figaro) and walked a little more quickly in hopes of seeing Clio.
When she spotted her sister, Euterpe beamed at her and then, with excitement, ran forward and hugged her tightly. "Clio Clio Clio!"

There was no denying the happiness she felt at seeing Euterpe. She steadied herself before eagerly returning the hug. She didn't plan on letting Euterpe gone soon, and hardly cared of those who saw them. This was her sister and she'd missed her. And she felt horrible for how low she's sunk and what had gone through her mind.
"Euterpe." Her happiness was in her voice as she drew back to smooth her sister's hair back. "Flight go okay?"

Euterpe nodded and then put the earphone to Clio's ear so she could hear what Euterpe had been listening to. "I had my boyfriend with me." She smiled wickedly. Then, remembering what Clio had told them, she cried, "oh!" brightly and pressed the earphone to Clio's stomach instead. "Hey, little one?" Euterpe said, loud enough so a forming muse-baby might be able to hear it. "This is Mozart. Can you say Moat-zart?"
She paused as though listening for a reply then sighed at Clio, attempting to look very sad about this. "This might take some time, Clee."

She couldn't help it, her sisters comments and now her actions made her laugh. It felt good to do that, seeing before she'd barely managed to smile. Even now it came harder, but Euterpe had always managed to do it. Her fingers folded over her stomach with a soft smile, then she grinned. "I'm only four weeks along. It will take some time. Besides. It's first word is going to be something book related. Considering the father, I'll be shocked if it isn't and give you odd looks."
Smiling she took her sisters hand, "speaking of. I'll need you, for more then just driving around. I'm not...fully okay yet but I'm talking to someone now and I've got my reason. And I need you to be godmother, which you can't tell to anyone yet because I don't want our sisters thinking I'm playing favorites."

Euterpe planned to be there through every single minute of this pregnancy so she had high hopes that this baby would come out singing. "Godmother!" Euterpe squealed and then frowned a little in confusion. "Wait, isn't that a Christian thing? Are you going to be raising a Christian?" she sounded suitably horrified at the idea. "Oh Clio, pregnancy hormones have already gotten to you!"
A little more seriously she squeezed her sister's hand. "I happy to be needed by you, big sis. I promise to look after you." She wrapped her arm around Clio's waist and squeezed her affectionately.

Quickly she realized she knew she had to correct her sister. Before another sibling assumed she and Patrick were having some sort of illicit affair. "Terps, no. The baby isn't Christian, and even if it was it'd still be part mine so who cares? I like the tradition of it, and I'm not planning on baptizing or anything, just that. Knowing that if something was to happen to me, my child would be okay." She shrugged and played with her sisters fingers.
Smiling she returned the hug, "thank you." She withdrew and grinned, "let's get your thinks. I'm parked nearby and I'll drive you home."

Oh thank Zeus for that! Euterpe had been momentarily worried that with all the stress Clio had gone and converted. A Christian Muse - unheard of! "Well, as long as we're not all going to church to start worshiping the 'one true god'," she snorted a little after doing her air quotes. The idea of one single god was so patently silly that she couldn't believe it had caught on like it had. "I like the idea of being Muse-mother though, so you know I'd always look after anything of yours. Remember how careful I always was with your scrolls?" That was just as serious as a baby, after all.
She pointed the way towards the luggage carousel, knowing that her suitcase would be easy to find once it appeared. It was the white once covered in multi-coloured musical notation.

She held back her laughter at that and kissed her sister's temple. "I couldn't convert. I still remember their hypocrisy and I'd spend most services getting up and going 'you're wrong'. Remember how often that gets me banned from theaters? I wouldn't last as a Christian. Besides, theres too much guilt. Although I have nice Christian friends. You'd like Patrick I think." Smiling she nodded, "I remember. It's why I trust you with everything. And I need someone to keep me company with all the doctor things and everything."
With a nod she set off towards it, finding someone to get the suitcase off the carousel once it came. She thanked the mortal with a smile and rolled the suitcase to her sister. "Is this all? Are you going to send for the rest of your things?"

"Not to mention that I'd tell dad and he'd come drag you away from them," Euterpe teased. (Although it wasn't untruthful. Zeus would be her first call should something like that happen. He'd fix it. Euterpe, despite thousands of years evidence to the contrary, still believed in her father's absolute power as well as the fact that he loved his Muse daughters completely.) "I'll sing to you when the doctor's appointments get boring," Euterpe promised. "And make up some songs for the baby."
They collected her suitcase and Euterpe nodded at the question. "Yep, that's all for now. Everything else is in boxes waiting to get put on some truck. Hopefully it doesn't get lost somewhere in the middle of America."

She had no issue with letting Euterpe take the suitcase as she walked to the car. The thought of Zeus storming in a church was pretty funny, and it made her laugh. "That'd be a sight to see. Dad storming in, pun intended, and getting all angry and frowny faced and dragging me out. As long as he doesn't turn me into something fuzzy or feathery I think I'd be fine." She smiled at the thought, setting one arm around her sister's waist.
"Well if it does get lost we'll hunt it down and make angry eyes at the driver and company."

"Dad'd never turn us fuzzy or feathery," Euterpe said with a sure smile. They were his Muses and sung his praises. How could he turn against them, after all?
She took a deep breath as they got outside the terminal and then made a happy sound as she looked at Clio. "I'm so glad I'm here with all of you now."
