Who: Dionysus and Daphne
When: Thursday night
Where: Random wine bar? Who needs tea or coffee when you have WINE. It's a Greek thing.
What: Dionysus does like to chase the pretty girls.
It was always a night out for Dionysus. He didn't conform well to structure. His own bar was handled by his wife and his pretty little mortal boy toy. When it came to the dirty details of work, Dionysus became quite bored with it. He liked to go out. He liked to have fun. He liked to soak himself up in the people around him. He was feeling better since Shakespeare had put his precious silver tongue on someone else and stayed away from his wife. It did not mean Dionysus remained the loyal husband, especially around the holidays. It was the perfect time for parties.
Putting on his best jacket, a new shade of lipstick and a little fluff to his hair, he made every eye turn and stop.
"Pardon me boys," Dionysus said squeezing into a local wine bar, charming the door man with a smile and giving a wink to the girls who'd been brought out by their boyfriends. There was another Greek presence that had yet to be named as he sashayed his way through the light sea of people picking out who he would flirt with next. Legs crossed, wine glass in his hand he sat atop one of the bar stools picking a very fresh, gorgeous-eyed face from the crowd.

Daphne wasn't too sure why she was here. She tended to stay quiet and in her little home, far removed from the drama that surrounded the Greek Pantheon, and quite happy about it. But every so often she attempted to be social and even she had a weakness for wine.
So far she'd already told a few she wasn't looking for anything, she just wanted to be around people. As a nymph, she drew eyes. She just ignored them.
When she felt the prickle she looked around, but as she didn't feel the need to flee she knew it wasn't Apollo. No one she instantly recognized (which was good, because Eros she would have punched) so she shrugged and walked to the bar. Whoever it was, was close. With a smile she ordered another glass.

The wine coated his pretty red lips, cheeks pink, and bright blue eyes who had her in his gaze. Like his Greek counterparts, he was drawn to beautiful people.
Scooting off his stool Dionysus stood tall and willowy, very much more effeminate than most of the girls in the room. There was a slight male structure to his face, even in the curve of his plump lips, but he was the androgynous beauty. He passed by the nymph, rubbing his finger against his bottom lip as he approached, seating himself beside her.
She smelled of Apollo, even if Apollo had never gotten his hands around her. She was a freshwater nymph. Dionysus caught her amazing blue eyes in his own.
"Let me get this one, sweetheart," he said placing his arm down on the counter and waving the bartender with a bill.

Oh great. She could smell wine, feel it even, and something slightly manic about him. She knew who it was then and wondered why her. If it wasn't one brother, it was the other. She gave a tight smile, knowing better then to deny an Olympian. She knew Artemis protected her though so she didn't fear he'd try anything.
"Thank you," she'd let him buy her the drink and then she'd leave. She had no desire to allow him any leeway around her.
She set her hands on the bar, suddenly wishing she was elsewhere.

His pouty lips pursed into a sweet smile, flashing her a pretty white-toothed smile as he leaned in. His aroma was that of a sweet wine, mixed with honey and madness. She was right to be unsure about him, Dionysus was unpredictable in the way most of his Olympian brothers.
She was already trying to hide, poor thing. Apollo had really scared the poor girl. Curses were such horrible things. He reached out to flick a stray hair from her cheek. "Such a pretty thing. A nymph, I'm certain." He smiled again. He could pick out a nymph as easy as Poseidon. They both had chased after Beroe.

She leaned back from the touch, not really encouraging it. Did Olympians just not learn to keep it in their pants? She didn't hide because of Apollo, she just took her vow very seriously.
"Daphne," she offered because part of her hoped her name would be enough to leave her be. Apollo had chased and been unsuccessful, despite the curse. "The laurel," she offered, trying to be helpful, "sworn to Artemis." Not that seemed to be very effective against Gods, but it was worth a shot.
"I ask our pardon. I made my vow a long time ago. I'm sure your wonderful but I'm simply not interested."

Well wasn't she being stubborn? Dionysus took the shun and waved it off with another drink, which he downed in just one big swallow. "Just paying you a compliment, little one, no reason to be so haughty." There was a cross look to his brow.

Crap. Of all times, why couldn't Apollo decide that now he'd try again and come find her? She appreciated his distance on most days but now wasn't one of them. "I am not haughty Lord, merely being honest. I thank you for the compliment either way." She hadn't even touched her glass. She wanted to leave as quickly as she could.

Dionysus wasn't competitive when it came to Apollo, he loved his brother, but he had to admit he was curious about the girl that he'd lost. She was a beauty. Such a waste to give that virginity away to lady Artemis when there was a beautiful world she'd not yet explored in the arms of a lover.
"I bought you a drink, the least you can do is taste it?" He gave another grin that could be menacing, Dionysus was hard to decipher behind the pretty face.

She sighed and sipped from the wine. She'd have to be careful with him so close but she knew her limits. With a smile she set her glass down, "thank you, again."

Dionysus could easily alter a persons perceptions if he willed it. Their greatest fears, their biggest desires. He sat back, content now that she'd at least have the drink he'd bought.
"Not a problem, sugar." He was curious though, wondering why Apollo wasn't sniffing around. "What brings you out here?" he sat his glass down, pulling one leg and crossing it over his knee, his hands drapped, showing off his perfectly manicured and painted fingernails.

She took half sips from her drink, unwilling to really offend him and yet still looking for an escape route. She knew she should have just stayed home.
Smiling she shrugged, "I try to be social once in a while. People ask less questions when you at least attempt to be one of them." She liked her woods and her cabin. She'd always hated cities.

"And my handsome brother hasn't bothered to come pittering around?" He walked his fingers across the table ordering himself another round, already earning a few glances from the bartender. There was something about Dionysus that pulled their attention, even if they'd thought themselves unattracted to him in the first place.
"It's nice to get out. Lots of new faces to meet." He pursed his lips.

"I like the quiet and the solitude. I always have. I'm a creature of nature, not of man." Then she sighed, "Apollo promised to keep away from me. So far he's kept his promise. Neither of us like this curse, and the nicest thing he does is understand I do not like to fear or hate him, yet keeps away." For that, she owed him some loyalty. "He has other things to keep him busy. I hear he's got a child now." She shrugged. She didn't really keep up to date with anyone.

His pretty bright blue eyes fluttered against those dark lashes. "Did he?" his hand on his hip. He seemed actually surprised. "I thought he would have tried to see more of you. That silly little Eros did a bang up job didn't he?" Eros meddled, but Dionysus hardly had the heart to hate him. It was just a shame, this pretty girl was pined for with no urge to have a man in her life.
"Ah, spoken like a true girl of Artemis' own heart." He held his hand to his chest. Her loyalty was endearing.

She made a face. Her dislike of Eros was obvious. She was sure her hate was causing ripples with Eros' mother but right now she didn't care. "Eros is a spiteful creature. He harmed me for no reason. And he hasn't. Why go after one woman who will always say no, when plenty will say yes?"
She smiled to the mention of her Goddess, "I try and be like Her in every way. I do my best to honor her. She has always looked out for me."

Dionysus chuckled with a feminine hand to his face. Oh she was adorable! "He means well, poor thing." Dionysus had his love affairs with Aphrodite as well, he hardly had any quarrel with either of them right now. "True." If he could he would have bedded Apollo himself. He adored his brother. "But you're such a pretty thing."
Artemis was also a ball buster. Not only was she virginal but she gathered her followers like troops in the same fashion.
"Another drink?" he offered waving his hand to the waiter.

She scoffed. "He knows only arrogance and spite. I would kill him, would it not offend Gods I cannot tangle with." She rolled her eyes, "my physical appearance has nothing to do with anything. He doesn't come near me and that's fine with me."
She shook her head, "no. I never drink much, but thank you."

Dionysus shrugged taking both her refused drink and his own. It sent a new surge of energy around them. It was a shame this bar didn't have a proper dance floor. As soon as he'd created thought it was as if some of the people around them felt it, almost in a frenzy to make room for wayward arms and legs.
"Apollo is the responsible one," Dionysus scoffed. Part of him was willing to push the theory. He liked pressing Apollo's buttons.

By the looks of people around her she had to make an exit soon, before she found herself doing something she would regret. Self consciously she touched the pendant of a half moon that was around her neck for support. She knew Artemis was with her.
"Sometimes," still if he hadn't wagered with Eros, she wouldn't be here right now. "But I do need to get going Lord. I beg your pardon."

Dionysus reached out, clasping down on her arm gingerly to keep her grounded. "Won't you dance with me, doll?" Just one. Then he promised to let her be while he tangled wildly with the rest of the crowd that was starting to form on the non-existent dance floor.
He wouldn't hurt her, he just wanted her to loosen up a bit.

She bit her lip, unwilling to offend and unwilling to put herself in that situation. She didn't dance, not with anyone anyway. Alone was fine, but never with another. It required them to put their hands on her and she never liked that. "I'd rather not," she sounded vaguely panicked. Off all the times to wish Apollo would show himself. "Please Lord, I just want to go home."

He promised her no harm, using his own silver tongue to win her over. "Just a dance, sweetheart then you can fly away to where your heart wishes." He waved his hand in the air and pulled her gently with him. "Please." He was a god, if she rejected him anymore he could get angry.

She stayed where she was, panic starting to creep up her spine and into her throat. "No, please." Dancing was the last thing on her mind. She knew she would feel awkward and exposed, and she really didn't like being touched in those ways, especially nto by a god.
She tried to disentangle herself from him, to do what she did best and just run.

She was getting away! Dionysus felt his heartbreak, but the crowd that started to sift around them broke his hand from hers before he could snatch it back.
