Who:Dionysus and Ariadne What:You did what? When:Saturday night Where:Ariadne's apartment
His wife was playing games, childish ones. Dionysus wasn't friendly when she pulled those moves, teasing him with other men. Or so that's what she wanted him to believe. It didn't matter, the idea of an orgy that involved Ariadne was beyond reasonable. He'd never considered it. She'd been his star from day one and she always would be. No one else was going to have that pleasure.
She'd told him she'd gone out on some 'hot date', asked him to not come over that night. How inconsiderate when he'd had a spectacular evening planned? All romantic gestures were gone after her message. The week had also become busier than he'd expected, causing his annoyance to fester. They'd hardly seen as much of each other even with her working at Naxos. Mostly in passing, feathered touches, soft glances, but not quite as inappropriate as he would have liked.
He now stood at her door hardly expecting he needed to knock. He did however, with that seductive smile, a bouquet of roses and one of his best jackets.

[info]mostholy 2011-01-08 11:00 pm (local) (link) Track This Oh she knew it was childish, but giving him a taste of his own medicine was kind of nice. She'd never be Hera, she couldn't be that cruel to anyone, but she was tiring of his constant affairs. She'd never be unfaithful to him, but she could make him think that if he wasn't the only one with options.
She knew sooner or later she'd burn herself with this, playing with a god of mad frenzies was never a good idea but she'd learned some subtleties.
She wasn't expecting anyone really, thus was dressed a bit more relaxed. It was her home after all.
She opened the door with a frown, pushing her robe up her arm as she unlocked it, "Dionysus, what are you doing here?" She smiled at the roses, "you know I'm partial to wildflowers don't you?" She'd never been a fan of roses oddly enough.
With a roll of her eyes she opened the door to let him in. "Come on in."

He looked at the flowers, dumping them on their head as he walked through the door. Here he was with a romantic gesture and she threw it aside. He didn't even think she was trying too hard.
He tossed them into the garbage as they passed it. He was getting more than annoyed with this. "Not so happy to see me, beautiful?" he asked motioning his brows upward. "Here I came to play and you turn me down." Wine was always the next solution.

She knew they were both acting like children, and it still didn't stop her. "I didn't expect you that's all." She smiled and sighed, biting down the comment she wanted to make.
"You caught me of guard that's all." she set her hand on her hip, "and, unless you've lost your vision, I was getting ready for bed. It's been a busy week." She shrugged and moved into her living room, "so don't get grumpy with me mister." She wondered when he'd bring up her whole supposed 'date'. "Are you hungry?"

"Didn't expect me?" he scoffed, "what ever gave you that idea?"
"No, I'm not hungry. Unless it involves your mouth and those hips, my appetite is gone." He mimicked her stance, his own hands on his hips. She was still blatantly ignoring the real issue here.
"Are you even going to tell me?" he asked rolling his hand about in the air. "This date of yours." It irked him, she could see it in his eyes and his posture. If she had the audacity to go, he was going to know if it had been good.

She rolled her eyes when he mimicked her and his crass words. She sighed then and walked to where her television was, gathering the DVD's and putting them on the couch in front of him.
"I can't believe you, you know that? You're such a hypocrite. You can't stand the idea that I may have options that aren't you and even now are expecting me to just lay back and spread my legs like it's nothing." She shook her head again, "over all these years never have I given you any reason to doubt me. I never once was unfaithful to you, even during the years where I had no idea where you were. You Gods have not a clue about being faithful and I'm getting to a point where I can understand Hera." she gave him a long, even look, "which is scary because she frightens me, but I can understand her. After a while, your heart keeps being ripped out and you always wonder why you're not enough. That's why I left. I was tired of it all. Tired of seeing you flirt with every pair of legs in front of my eyes, tired of knowing that I have to share your affections and that I'll never compare to Aphrodite."
She bit her lip, not wanting to cry. "So you know what Dionysus, you can know the feeling. So I'll flirt because men find me attractive, but I would never be unfaithful. Not now. Not ever. Because despite how much you hurt me, I love you. And I know what you'd do to them." She ran her fingers through her hair to collect herself, "you know what I did? I invited Psyche over. She understands how it feels to feel so lost amongst Gods as a former mortal, understands feeling not good enough. We watched sappy movies, drank a bit of wine and generally had a good time."
She moved to the kitchen then, "so no I don't exactly feel like just flopping on my back because you brought roses. You're hardly trying and I am upset. And yes you can find what you want elsewhere, but my door won't open for you then Dionysus. Not for a long time and I will have you wonder if I am breaking my promise to you, because I am tempted."

While he was notorious for prowling the night life like any hooker on speed, Dionysus had remained rather loyal to her these last few months. He'd flirted, perhaps stolen a few tongue-filled kisses but since she'd been there it was new and inviting---he hadn't slept around. Not yet anyway.
"Is this because Aphrodite is around?" He asked raising a brow. He'd actually seen very little of the love goddess even if the mere idea now was tantalizing to think about.
"Hardly trying---Ari," he stopped, shaking his head both hands now on his hips. "Don't be like this," it was giving him a headache. It hurt. Dionysus was easily wounded by those he cared about the most, and he could feel that deep inside. Where her insecurities lay, his own were hidden. He wasn't the prince she'd originally wanted, would he ever be?

He didn't get it and always brought Theseus up somehow. The Prince had hurt her, and she carried those wounds, but he hardly helped with his flirting.
And she knew he'd eventually look to other beds, once the newness of her being here wore off. She let out a breath and opened her eyes, "I invited her to dinner." Because she'd never compete with Aphrodite, she couldn't, and she'd spend most of the night miserable and pretending to be part of the decor.
She ran her hands through her hair and found her calming breath. She'd rather not argue. "You're very fortunate I wasn't raised to be vengeful Dionysus." she set her hands on her counter and looked at him. She couldn't ask him to be different, but it still hurt.
It was in his blood though, she knew all about his father. On one hand she felt lucky enough to have avoided his attention.
She sighed and walked to him, setting her hands on his chest and looking up at him with a smile. "Look, I want to ask you something. Can we please stop bickering?"

[info]dipsomaniac 2011-01-10 06:40 pm (local) (link) Track This Dionysus didn't want to fight, he was much more the lover on most occasions. When it came to Ariadne he didn't want to make himself so angry that he stormed out, that's what she was used to from others. He wouldn't be that to her, but he had been a disappointment even in his good behavior this time.
Zeus had carried him until he was born that second time, that very nature was like a second skin. He was glad she never asked him to be any different because he wasn't going to be able to promise her that. Dionysus was too wrapped up in the energy of other people. He lived, thrived and got drunk off of it. New faces was always exciting to the god because it felt as if those he became closest to were taken away from him. Ariadne had been the exception and her talking in this way made his heart pound a little faster.
"I don't want to fight you," he said cupping her face. "I don't like fighting," but this story got old. It was a broken record. All he could ask was for her to remain his, even at his worst.

"Alright, no fighting." Smiling she set her fingers on his jacket, "and you look very sharp." She knew she couldn't bring up any potential future children yet, not with him still feeling slighted.
"Very handsome." She gave him her best winning smile and set her hands on his cheeks, giving him a quick kiss. "I love you, you strange God. That isn't changing." She took his hands and kissed them, "now tell me I look pretty."

[info]dipsomaniac 2011-01-10 07:21 pm (local) (link) Track This Whether or not she was doing this to get him back on his good side, Dionysus didn't really care. He preferred to have Ariadne to himself. It was selfish to want her so badly and not give her the same freedoms he gave himself. If she'd done anything he'd hurt whomever came in his way, but he wanted his little star happy. Seeing her unhappy damaged him.
When she'd left on that little prance around the country it threw him off kilter. Kyle hadn't been the only one affected by his disturbance.
He grinned at the compliment setting his hand in hers and twirling her around. "You are gorgeous, beautiful," he said vibrantly. She had never became dull in his eyes. He pulled her back, pressed up against him, his thin arms snuggled around her. He still needed a few moments to come down off this uncomfortable high, his heart was still beating a little too fast to be safe yet.

She knew him, he tended to let these things slip by. It was the main reason she held all the accounts and money. He was never good at holding onto that.
And if she fussed over him, she knew he'd feel better. "And you can stay tonight. But no opening the windows. I'll catch my death like that." They both knew she wasn't very strong. She gently tugged on his coat then, "come take that off, plenty warm in here."

With a slight smile he pulled his arms out of the coat and laid it against her couch, only the thin white shirt showing underneath. Dionysus was never the burly kind of man, nothing at all like the robust figure that was always drawn about him. He supposed he should be grateful for that seeing as all these years drinking could have very easily given him the pot belly. He wasn't the hero type either, in return he was dainty, effeminate but as equally attractive.
This Ariadne he liked fawning after better. Arguments always gave him a sharp headache. She had grown into the seductress part quite well, she knew how to work his buttons.

Yet now she sighed. "You need to take better care of yourself Dion." she rather liked his form, and he knew that. "You're skinny enough as it is." she shook her head and walked into the kitchen, looking for something to make. He usually ate whatever she put in front of him but she liked making sure he at least ate decently enough.

"I get enough, there's no reason to obsess over it." He raised another curious brow as she continued. "Ari where is this going?" he started but she finished the rest of that question for him.
Dionysus wasn't exactly the best father figure, though he did care about his children. He wasn't as bad as some, he just didn't dote on them as often as he probably could have. He was more irresponsible than Hymenaios, who often times showed up his old man in being the parent in that relationship.
He patted his knee after uncrossing his legs for her to sit. "Why the sudden urge?" he asked, there was definite uncertainty in his eyes. He hadn't seen her for centuries and was getting used to having her around to himself. Even the first time their time together was short before she'd birthed her first son which wasn't his own.

She resisted the urge to roll her eyes and sat on his lap, turning to face him so she could run her fingers along his chest to calm him. She knew their 'honeymoon' hadn't been long, with her all pregnant, so she always hesitated. He liked having her to himself.
"Like I said Psyche brought up Hedone and I was a little jealous that's all. She got to keep Hedone all tiny and cute and my boys grew up." Shrugging she smiled at him, "and it's not urgent Dionysus." He didn't need to know about her wishes, not when he felt uncertain. "I'm still all yours. I was just curious. His arm settled in around her waist, plucking at the little number she had on, fingers dancing up her arm as she spoke. He was listening, he always did, he was just almost always transfixed on her face while she did. Her soft lips, those beautiful eyes and golden hair. "He's fine, sugar," though when Dionysus got his claws in the poor kid hardly got any sleep or a haze-free moment.
Dionysus would give her anything except those things he had no power of changing. This was something he could adopt, but she didn't press on it. He nuzzled her ear with his lips just before she hopped up which left him with an exasperated expression. His arms branched out as if still expecting her to stay seated in his lap.
