Who: Braireos and Kymopoleia
Where: Local bar
When: Thursday night
What: Creepers do what they do best: creep.
She was a familiarity that the once monsterous being could not let go of. She wasn't comforting, nor did she make him feel welcome, but amidst her burning desire to lock him away from her mind and her personal space he was still there. The new city opened a new array of personalities that Braireos was still getting used to. Allen for one. The poet had creeped his way on him even after the Valentine's shenanigans. There was some flattery in there if the monster knew how to take flattery. As it was Briareos was just rather inept to understanding feelings. His own were wildly misguided.
He was clingy in his own right to Kymopoleia now, a sad turn of fate considering where her place had been in the days of Greece. The brash, annoying girl was still someone he was connected to no matter how loosely. So, he continued to stalk her, lurking in the shadows of her favorite hideouts in silence.

Poseidon was back in charge, back with his full powers, and Kymopoleia just didn't want to deal with it. She thought that something had changed between the two of them since he'd died. She thought there had been some sort of shift. But then Poseidon had gone and done the cruelest thing he could to her and Kymopoleia realised that her father was the same selfish, arrogant asshole that he had always been. She felt like an idiot for ever expecting anything else, especially after all this time.
Kymopoleia had tried to convince Triton that Poseidon didn't deserve his powers back, that he'd only fuck everyone up all over again, but Triton was all about honour and doing what was right and Kymopoleia wished she could strangle him for that.
On top of that, Ky couldn't ditch Briareos. He just kept hanging around her like a lost puppy and showing up to try and ruin her nights. All he was managing to do though was convince Ky that he was no longer even a breath of a threat to her.
Tonight she could feel him somewhere behind her and she slid a finger through the damp spot on the table in front of her. "You could at least bring some more shots over if you're going to harass me." She'd been giving her presence for the last weeks the silent treatment.

Poseidon had been eager for his titles, the last known thing that was his being stripped away had made him come to a realization. It wouldn't perhaps last but for now at least it had staying power. To all the sea children involved the shift was more than noticeable. It hit like a train in comparison to the cool tempered Triton. Briareos didn't like being tossed around like this. His loyalties had never really been to anyone unless something was asked of him or taken.
He wasn't quite the leech Ky thought him to be. He wasn't searching for anything like a lost puppy, but being around her gave him some sense of who he used to be. She may think he was harmless now, but if she pushed it, he wouldn't be so mellow. He too was still a sea god, Tue most powerful at that before Titans and Olympians clashed.
"You don't order me around." He gave her a sharp tongue as he seated beside her. He wasn't anyone's batting net.

As Ky saw it she'd given him a choice there, and so she slipped her legs up onto the bench beside herself, planting them firmly between the two of them. If he tried to move them she was pulling out her knife, crowded bar be damned. Other than that she now ignored him completely, tracing swirls through the spilled spirits on the table.

Briareos' face turned blank, his eyes shadowed by those dark brows. Just because she held confidence over him did not mean she pulled him like a stray dog. It was degrading of her to be so snide.
He daringly raised his hand just over her leg when a much larger male bumped into him, launching him forward. It knocked her feet from their perch.

Ky hissed - anger and discomfort - and she stood up as much as possible between table and bench and said, "I'm fucking outta here. You still think you can put your hands all over me any time you like."

He grabbed her arm, insisting with that intense grip that she sit back down. Some of his old power corsing back through his veins. "Sit down," he hissed back, releasing her arm but not once letting up on his threat. "This place isn't exactly wide open." Something he was sure she played purposefully.

Ky glared at her hated husband and didn't sit, but nor did she continue leaving. "What," she asked coldly, "do you want?"

"I don't owe you a reason," he snarled. If she left, he was sure to be a step ahead. She could be as cold and indifferent as she pleased, he didn't care in the slightest. This would continue and she would eventually grow ragged with her arrogance.

Ky shook her head with a bitter smile. "I don't know what I just expected you to even say then." She looked around the bar and then back at him coldly. "I'm done with your bullshit stalking routine, okay? You've even more childish than Poseidon and the two of you can have each other, because if you're just going to keep showing up for no reason other than to be a dick then I'm calling the cops and right after that I'm calling some of the New Gods and putting a hit on you."

She was going to stop this routine of treating him like a child. "Do you think there's always going to be someone to save you?" He lifted his brows, reminding her that it was Poseidon who had brought him here in the first place. It was Poseidon who had given her to him. "I will do as I like. Stop treating me as your shadow." He wasn't going to hold anything back for anyone. If dragging her out behind the bar by her pretty little head proved to her that he was no spineless newt, then he would gladly take that anger out on her. He might be just a sliver, thin and lanky, but these weeks in New York with many like them only gave him some sense of power. He needed it, because for too long he'd been only a broken piece of his true self.

"And how would you like me to treat you, sweetie?" Ky's tone was venomous and she didn't take her eyes off him. Forget trying to get someone to kill him, it was too much effort for not enough return. With both Poseidon and Briareos in the city and with another sibling on the way, New York was feeling way too small and she was done with it.

"Respectfully," he pulled on her arm, not yet releasing the force she had been partial to during their marriage. "You leave, this isn't the end. You won't get rid of me by jumping ship." He could see that look in her eye, he knew exactly what she was thinking. He'd seen that look when she had tried to flee before.

Kymopoleia laughed loud enough that some of the people at the neighbouring table looked over at them for a moment. "Respect?" she repeated in sheer disbelief. "And what respect have you ever shown me? You go ahead and tell me about your 'respect' and I'll start treating you with some." She watched him, waiting for an answer. "Because beating me? Raping me? Terrifying me for years and years on end and now stalking me at every turn? Which part there is the respect part?"

He wasn't going to say she was right. In his mind she wasn't. "It was my duty. You were mine." It was the only way he knew to be out of survival. "I knew no other way."

"So what's your excuse now?" she demanded, hands on her hips. "Why do you think I'm going to sit and be a good little girl when I only let you get away with this before because you weren't stronger? I hate you," she reminded him. "I hate you more than anything in the world."

"I'm not exactly capable of thrashing you through the wall now am I?" He hated that. Hated having to admit how truthful that was. A monster without an ounce of strength, not like he had had before, but he was needing a connection of some sort because just being here fired him up. He liked feeling riled and not closed in.
"Those words would be far more effective if you'd actually left by now," he hissed, teeth bared and ready. His shoulders ached then, as if his arms would split in two to grow more to strangle her pretty white neck.

Kymopoleia leaned in just a little, her voice a hiss through her teeth: "then move out of my fucking way and I'll go." Did he honestly believe some form of affection was keeping her around him? He was the one playing stalker in all this.

His adrenaline pumped hastily through his veins as if his body thrived off her hate. He was never a nice person, but he wasn't what she remembered. She wouldn't let go of it, part of him wanted her to keep remembering it because it kept him feeling alive.
He craned his neck high. "I'm not nice enough for that." Let her get her claws out. He was ready to wrestle the anger out of her.
