WHO: Klymene, Atlas, Prometheus, Epimetheus, Iapatos WHEN: Friday night WHERE: Klymene's apartment WHAT: Family dinner full of surprises WARNINGS: tba/likely nothing NOTES: Lara is unlikely to be around much for this, so I'll probably just be NPCing Iapatos with whatever she tells me to do :) Posting order can go however we like.
Three sons, and Klymene adored each of them without end. Only one of her boys was now missing and she was excited about the knowledge that Epimetheus and Prometheus would be thrilled to see Atlas. She'd told them nothing about meeting him and so it would be a surprise.
She brought in servers and cooks to deal with everything, Klymene desiring only to play the role of adoring mother. She would sort out all of these problems between her boys, just as she'd sorted out the problem of Pandora.
The staff had been instructed to show her boys into the sitting room where she was now waiting, a glass in her hand. (Klymene had carefully searched the internet for the best non-alcoholic drinks she could find, and was currently quite enamored with a de-alcoholised sparkling rosé wine she had shipped in from Bordeaux.)

[info]spinningheavens 2012-03-03 07:15 am UTC (link) Track This Atlas had presented himself at his mother's apartment as she'd requested, dressed suitably, he hoped. It would be good to see his father and brothers again, after having been without them for so long. He remembered Klymene saying he only needed to bring himself, but he'd seen a small globe in the shop the other day, and had brought it along as a gift. It reminded him of some of the first more detailed maps he'd seen.
Upon arriving, he'd knocked, and was shown to the sitting room where his mother was waiting. "Hello, Mother," he said, handing her the box. "You look lovely."

[info]lightstepping 2012-03-03 07:31 am UTC (link) Track This Klymene kissed him on the cheek, her own outfit tailored shirt and pants "And so handsome you look," she told him, taking the box but not yet looking at it. Right now she only had eyes for her returned son. "Your brothers aren't here yet, so you'll get to surprise them both."
She opened the box carefully and smiled at the gift. "Beautiful," she told him. "I've got quite the collection of maps and globes. I kept them as a reminder that you were near somewhere, and now here you are."

[info]firestealer 2012-03-03 07:56 am UTC (link) Track This Prometheus wasn't really looking forward to this meeting, but he knew better then to deny his mother. He'd dressed simply, jeans, a shirt and a jacket, never feeling much need to dress up unless it was truly dire.
Hands in the pockets of his jacket he approached the door, removing one to knock. He frowned, sensing someone familiar beside his mother in the house. It was family and he rather hoped it wasn't Epimetheus. He knew his mother was trying to force a reconciliation so he had vowed to keep mostly to himself this evening. Epimetheus would forgive him if Prometheus earned it.

[info]lightstepping 2012-03-03 08:13 am UTC (link) Track This Klymene felt the presence of Prometheus outside and exited the living room just in time to see the hired hand bringing him in. "Prometheus, my dear," she smiled, gesturing that he should come join her and stepping backwards into the room again. "I've a surprise for you. Come in here."

[info]firestealer 2012-03-03 08:24 am UTC (link) Track This While rather not in the mood for surprises he smiled to his mother. Best to indulge her before things got ugly. He shrugged off his jacket and stepped inside, pausing at the sight of his other brother. That did earn a big smile and he stepped away from his mother to embrace his brother. "Atlas, it is so good to see you."

[info]spinningheavens 2012-03-03 09:01 am UTC (link) Track This Atlas stood up and returned the embrace, clapping Prometheus on the back. "Prometheus. You're a sight for sore eyes," he said, stepping back and taking a good look at him. "Been way too long. How have you been? Doing anything interesting?"

[info]firestealer 2012-03-03 09:49 am UTC (link) Track This "You have been away too long if you think I'm a sight." He was grinning though. He had missed his brother dearly. "I'm alright. Can't complain. Not on a rock." He smirked to the joke, "I am a sculptor now. Clay pieces, mostly. and yourself?"

[info]spinningheavens 2012-03-03 11:09 am UTC (link) Track This Atlas snorted. "Yes, and I'm not holding up the earth. Well done, us. And I have been away too long, but I go where I'm needed, I suppose. Where things are happening."
He nodded. "Fitting. I'd love to see your work sometime. As for me, I'm teaching astronomy, restoring antique maps, sometimes making them. A bit predictable, but I'm good at it. They're always interesting."

[info]firestealer 2012-03-03 11:41 am UTC (link) Track This He gave a wry smirk, "we're free at least. It's something." He released his brother and stepped back. "Glad you felt you had to come here then."
He nodded, "mother's putting together a gallery for me. You should come. I'll introduce you to Jade and Aidan. And I think we're all predictable brother."

[info]lightstepping 2012-03-03 11:48 am UTC (link) Track This Klymene - who had been lurking at the sideboard with the champagne - brought a glass over now for each of her boys. "Prometheus' show is going to be a marvel," she said as she passed a glass to each of them with a smile. "Not that any of my boys could do anything less than marvelous."

[info]excuse_me 2012-03-04 02:25 am UTC (link) Track This Epimetheus had absolutely no desire to be there that night. The only reason had came was for his mother. Nothing more. Nothing less. And he came entirely as himself, dressing casually and without any desire to impress. That was left for the camera. Right now he just wanted to get through this night without as few glitches as possible.
He was taken to the sitting room, standing in the entrance for a moment as he gave Prometheus nothing more than a mere glance. It wasn't time to get past anything. Not yet. That would come in time, no matter how badly Klymene tried to push them. But when he looked upon the face of Atlas it took him a moment to realize just who he was. Where he would have been extremely happy and cheerful to see his brother, right now he just nodded to him, "Hello, brother. Been a long time." But for his mother he stepped forward and kissed her cheek. "Mother, you look lovely."

[info]iapetos 2012-03-05 10:59 am UTC (link) Track This Iapetos had been avoiding coming into the family dinner as long as he could but he didn't want Klymene to nag him. He entered the room, nursing a whiskey and nodding hellos to his boys.
"Epimetheus," he said, recognising his son who had just arrived. "Drink?"

[info]spinningheavens 2012-03-06 02:19 am UTC (link) Track This "Of course I'll come," he agreed. "I'd like to see your work, meet your friends. I'm sure it will be wonderful. As for turning up here, I followed the sailors. They had need of me. A happy coincidence, I suppose."
"Hello, father," Atlas said, nodding in return. To Epimetheus, he said, "It has, but I'm hoping I can make up for that. How have you been?"

[info]firestealer 2012-03-06 09:16 am UTC (link) Track This With Epimetheus present, he grew noticeably more quiet. Usually they'd stick together during these events, but this time there was a specter hanging between them. He gave his father a nod before leaning against a desk, wishing he could actually drink so this'd be all a bit more tolerable.

[info]lightstepping 2012-03-06 09:44 am UTC (link) Track This Klymene looked between her two fueding boys with a quiet sigh of disappointment. "I cannot believe you two haven't sorted this out yet. Epimetheus, you know that it wasn't Prometheus' fault. He'd never do anything to hurt you, so stop being silly, the both of you. And as for the Olympian trollop, well," she looked over at Iapatos with a small, smug smile. "She's not going to be bothering anyone anymore."

[info]firestealer 2012-03-06 09:48 am UTC (link) Track This He wanted to tell his mother this would take time. He'd betrayed Epimetheus in trust and in blood. This would be mended with time. It couldn't be forced. But his comments got lost by her last one and he frowned, pushing off the desk. "Mother what in all of the gods names did you do?"

[info]iapetos 2012-03-06 09:49 am UTC (link) Track This Iapetos coughed as his wife hinted at Pandora's fate, and he took another sip of his drink. He had done the right thing of course. t still made him a little uncomfortable to be in the room while this was discussed.

[info]lightstepping 2012-03-06 09:54 am UTC (link) Track This Klymene looked at Prometheus seriously. "I did what had to be done to keep this family together and strong," she told him, looking at Epimetheus as well. "I know you had feelings for her but it's time to forget her now. You're better off with her in the ground."

[info]excuse_me 2012-03-06 02:52 pm UTC (link) Track This Epimetheus tensed up considerably when his mother decided it was a brilliant idea to bring up the fact that he and Prometheus weren't speaking. "Mother, we'll-" but his own retort was lost as well.
He just stared at Klymene for what felt like forever. It was like watching a child trying to figure out a riddle. By the end of it, he knew what her words meant. "I already kicked her out of my life. But you sound like you're saying she's dead." Someone had to say it.

[info]lightstepping 2012-03-06 03:12 pm UTC (link) Track This "She is," Klymene told him simply. "And maybe when she pops up again - because unfortunately she doesn't seem the type to stay where she's put - she'll think twice about ever coming near either of you again."
