Despite the chill in the air, Huitzilopotchli kept to the streets. He'd promised Mary retribution, and retribution he would give her. His current prey was sly and trickery, but he had patience. He waited and stalked, and eventually he managed to track the man down. He waited in an alley, having send out his warriors to corral the man into it. He hoped the sight of six or so well trained men would make him follow the little trail Huitzi had set up.
When Judas stepped into the alley, his warriors would block of the exit. He'd chosen the alley because it only had the one exit. To count on surprise he jumped out from behind a dumpster aiming a blow to Judas' upper body with the Macuahuitl he preferred. His aim was to stun the man, bring him down. Huitzilopotchli never underestimated an enemy. He had no idea what he was up against and he wanted the surprise before anything else. If he could bring the man low before he could form a counter, this would go easier.
Judas slouched as he walked. He saw no reason to walk straight, after all, he was the scum of the earth, wasn't he? He thought about Mary, a slightly smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. She'd certainly made herself scarce since that day- hah. Tugging the hip flask out of his pocket, Judas took a glug of whiskey. As he lowered the container, however, he paused. There were some rather tough-looking men standing on the street ahead of him, and Judas' heightened sense of self-preservation told him that he didn't want to meet them. He stopped and backed up, turning back the way he'd come, feet picking up a faster pace.
Of course three more men blocked his escape. Of course there was no escape but for the narrow alley they were forcing him into. Judas looked back and forth between them, eyes wide, looking for a gap to run through. Perhaps if he could get to a fire escape in the alley... He dashed in, spying one and making for it, preparing to leap for the ladder, and swore with pain as a crashing blow to his chest took him by surprise and flipped him onto his back. He gasped, winded, his ribs throbbing.
"Oh fuck- oh fuck- what do you want with me?!" he groaned, arms defensively raised over his chest as he tried to get his breath back and roll away.
He did not feel inclined to answer. This was mainly for vengeance and honor. Not his own, but it hardly mattered. For those he loved, he tended to do a great amount of things.
He aimed another blow towards the man's chest as he went to get up again, keeping his eyes on him for any sort of aggressive moves or another attempt at fleeing.
Judas was certain he heard a crack that time, and hugged his sides, coughing. "FUCK! Leave me alone! What did I do to you?!" he cried, his voice breaking. He'd been beaten up before, but he usually was afforded the luxury of being verbally abused for his sins first. He rolled onto the side that felt less painful, curling away from his aggressor.
If this was as simple as that, he would not be here. But for a moment he paused, walking to the side of this man and crouching down. He put the weapon on the man's chin to force him to look at him. Huitzilopochtli's eyes were too blue, the remains of his power leaking through them.
He kept the man's gaze before taking out a picture of him and Mary. It had taken her a good few days to convince him that, no, his soul would stay in one piece, but now he held it so the man could see it. Then he tilted his head, "she asked me to kill you."
Judas felt a little sick as he looked at the picture. "She didn't tell me she had a boyfriend," he said, not bothering to lie. The man was clearly an immortal, and this was no ordinary retribution. Mary had asked this creature to kill him. Judas looked up at Huitzilopochtli, dull blue eyes meeting that brightness. "I suppose it wouldn't be all the same to you if you didn't kill me?" he asked, not really hopeful of that outcome.
He lowered the blade to the man's neck, "I am not her boyfriend. I am her lover." He shrugged because lying would not be something to do. Not now. "But I love her." He shook his head, "this I promised on my honor. I will make this quick if you lower your head and do not struggle. If you struggle I will continue to fight you until you can no longer struggle. But I can promise quick and clean. This blade can take out a horse." He figured he should at least offer the option. "I imagine you will return, then this between us is over. I will have no more purpose to hunt you down, unless you touch Mary again."
"Can't we- isn't there another way??" Judas tried, feeling even sicker. "Can you maybe just beat the crap outta me and let that be it? I won't try and fight you. I don't want to die. What if I don't come back? I can't- I can't go down there-" Panic was making his breath come faster and he was babbling. "Come on, please- She wanted it too, you know, it wasn't like I raped her- I would never- You don't understand what They'd do to me down there, please-"
He frowned. This Hell thing sounded like an unpleasant thing and he did feel bad. "I am sorry. I am sure you will return. But I promised." Quickly he raised the blade before going to bring it down onto the man's neck with all his strength. He'd promised a quick enough death if the man did not move.
Judas could move quickly when he had to, but Huitzi was strong and swift. With a shriek of fear Judas rolled sideways, cracked ribs protesting, but not as much as his throat did as the end of the blade severed his widepipe. He'd moved, but not far or fast enough. For a couple of seconds he raised his hands to his throat, wet noises coming from his broken airway as blood spilled onto the ground with abandon, before his body relaxed, dead eyes staring at the dumpster. His neck was open like a Pez dispenser. Tears of fear left a wet streak across his face and into his hair.
He sighed as the man died. Christians had an odd concept of punishment when one would fear it so much. When the man died he set the blade aside before leaning over and closing the mans eyes and putting hsi body behind the dumpster.
He cut off a piece of the mans hair and took his wallet. He'd originally intended to take the man's heart, but this would suffice. He rose and nodded to his warriors, leaving with two while the rest cleared out as much evidence as they could before calling the cops to report the attack. Judas' body would not be forced to stay in the dark alley at the very least.
