Who: Michael and Saint Anthony
What: Halp! Clio's missing!
When: After this post
Where: Anthony's office
Michael did as he promised. He was indeed at Anthony's office in a few moments, as it was no trouble for him to travel that way. He arrived outside Anthony's door practically right after Anthony had given him the address and he knocked out of courtesy before entering without waiting.
"Saint Anthony," Michael said, nodding his head once. "Thank you for agreeing to help."
Anthony heard the knock, and he'd barely jumped out of his chair before the door burst open and Michael came in. "Come on in," he said quietly, closing the door behind him.
"Of course," he replied. "She's missing, and that's...that's my forte. You said you had a photo? Also, you never told me exactly who it was I'm looking for."
Michael hadn't told Anthony because he hadn't wanted the Saint to refuse before he even got here. "She's a pagan muse. The Greek muse of history. Her name is Clio and I don't have a photo but she has one of those things on the line. A bog? On the internet." Michael could use the internet, but he didn't know what a blog was.
"You mean a blog," Anthony said absently. "Does it have her picture on it? Since she writes in it, that might work."
He turned to look at Michael. "Pagan or not, no one deserves to be Lucifer's victim. Did you think I'd say no if you told me before I agreed?"
"I wasn't sure," Michael said, distracted. "Gabriel expressed displeasure that I asked her to help Saint Patrick. I did not know how any one else would react." Michael wrote down the title of her 'blog' and then he handed it to Anthony. "This is her."
"Did he really?" Anthony asked, punching the address into his laptop and pulling up Clio's blog. "Even so, what I said still stands. No one deserves to be held captive by Lucifer."
The page loaded, and Clio's blog appeared. Anthony scrolled down, reading the posts and comments, getting a feel for Clio, trying to catch a vague...something that might give him a clue to where she was.
Finally, finally, an image began to form in his mind. A woman with long brown hair and ancient eyes. A woman who forgot nothing. He focused on it harder, and sweat began to roll down his forehead. It was getting clearer now.
The city appeared in a bright flash of light, a birds-eye view of the island. Then it narrowed down to an industrial section. Rows of buildings flashed by, fast enough to make him dizzy, and far too quickly to make out any details.
It finally began to slow down, and Anthony slid out of his chair in a boneless heap. Groping blindly for a piece of paper and pencil, he found them both and readied himself to write down the address.
At last the buildings slowed, until he saw what had to be the correct one. He scribbled down the address. "She's there," he rasped. "But there's demons outside, watching the area. So be careful, OK?"
He pulled himself up and managed to make his way over to the kitchen, filling a glass of water and draining it in one go. "Go. And God grant you find her in time."
Michael took the address and then he placed a hand on Anthony's back, trying to give the Saint some strength. "Thank you, Anthony." He would come back and pay the Saint later.
For now he had to hurry. He had a call to make.
