WHO: Miranda and Kat Lowsley
WHEN: Wednesday afternoon
WHERE: Miranda's apartment, Gravesend
WHAT: Sisterly cuteness
Sometimes when Miranda woke up with not enough hours of sleep behind her she would stumble out into the kitchen and find herself surprised that Kat was there. She'd gotten so used to living alone, but it was nice to have her little sister there. Miranda wanted to do the right thing and look out for her, but Kat didn't really need that much looking out for.
This afternoon when Kat came through the door, Miranda came out from the kitchen with a smile. "Look," she said, pointing to the open box on the table. "Cordelia sent us a present." Their eldest sister was always sending strange things without warning, and now she was addressing it to both of them. This time it was two hats.
For Kat, she was just grateful enough her sister was willing to spare the room. College was a bit cheaper without a dorm, but she didn't want Miranda to think Kat was there to take advantage. So she'd gotten a job and paid her part.
But retail was terrible and some people were just Dicks, so she came home with a sigh. But her sister quickly made her change her mood, and the idea that Cordelia had send them whatever weird thing had popped up. She set her bag down and pulled out one of the hats. "Dibs, and that was nice of her. Makes me feel a bit guilty for sending an email asking her how the vampire slaying was going."

"I think I'm going to wear mine to work tomorrow," Miranda said, lifting it up and looking at it seriously. Where did Cordelia even find these things?
She gave Kat a half-smirk of amusement and said, "she's going to kill you one day." Miranda had been a big fan of Buffy herself - although 'big fan' was really understating it - but she'd mostly grown out of teasing Cordelia about her name by now. Still, it was entertaining.
"How was your day?"

"You're so lucky you can. I do it and I'm looking at adding this job to my resume." She laughed then, "oh I'm sure she will. OR she's used to it by now and will stop me from doing it too much."
She set the hat aside, she'd still wear it to school, before making a face. "The usual. Still deciding if wishing them to a place I know is real is good or bad. OH but I got frowned at today. We had one of those people with the bells in front of the store and I gave him some free coffee. You'd think I'd committed treason or something."

"My only risk is that Hecate will steal it," Miranda chuckled. "She loves the things Cor sends me." Miranda was pretty sure that if Cordelia showed up in the city then she would most definitely be Hecate's favourite of the siblings.
"Probably bad," Miranda said with a little nod but an amused expression and then added, "sorry people tried to ruin your day with their bad moods. Oh, Hermes asked if he could see you though. I told him I'd find a time when we could all get together."

She shook her head, "that's still so weird. And Cor does have the weirdest imagination sometimes. Which is more awesome then anything."
She rolled her eyes, "they deserve it. Sometimes." She sighed and shrugged, "it's alright." She perked up at the mention of their grandfather, "Oh I would love that. I just have a bit more of finals to go through before I'm all free. It's kind of hard to talk when I'm stuck in my books."

"As long as she doesn't turn creepy and start sending dead things," Miranda considered.
"Good," Miranda smiled brightly at her sister. "He's excited to see you again after all this time, it's been ages and he doesn't have to pretend he's wrinkly anymore, which I think helps his Olympian vanity." She laughed quietly. "His wife Peitho will probably be there too. She's a little... well, she runs a porn website and sometimes doesn't really get the whole personal space concept. She's nice, just a little overwhelming?"

"Yeah, no zombies." She finally removed her coat and hung it up, removing her shoes as well before grabbing a few books. She intended to do well in her classes.
She took a seat on the couch and grinned, "I bet it does." She raised an eyebrow before nodding "alright I'll keep it in mind. It's really strange how utterly normal this all is. I'll still be glad to see him, it's been a while." then she gave an almost secret grin, "broody mccute says hello."

"Strange-normal is now the default," Miranda agreed with a nod, sitting down across from her sister.
At Kat's last comment she grinned in amusement, knowing that she was talking about their very attractive downstairs neighbour, Thane. "He really is rather attractive," Miranda said, pretending to fan herself and swoon.

"I kind of like it," she admitted, "I mean things make more sense now. Yeah we get the whole actual needing to worry about Zeus but at least things make sense now. I nan odd way. And we have a big family."
Laughing she threw a pillow at her sister. "Rather she says." She shook her head. "he's a very wonderful addition to this place. Makes up for everything else."

"At times bigger than I can believe," Miranda said. Sometimes even thinking about it gave her a headache. "Occasionally I still think about who and what pappou is and it just spins my head around."
"Nice view," Miranda agreed mock-solemnly, but then she frowned a little. "Although... sometimes he creeps me out a bit. He seems nice enough, I suppose, but... I don't know, there's just something." She shrugged at her sister. "Maybe I'm just internalizing dad's 'dark and broody is code for asshole'."

She nodded in agreement, "I think the moment it stops doing that to us is the moment we're officially a bit crazy. I don't think we're supposed to grasp it all." Then she smirked, "let's just hope no family dinners. There'd be too much awkward."
She shrugged, "could, or you have a point because I agree. There is something. We'll remain curious but wary. We can't judge on appearances, but we can exercise caution. In the meantime, we can look. Looking hasn't ever hurt anyone."

"Us mere mortals," Miranda smirked. "I had family dinner before you arrived here though. Hermes, Hecate, Peitho and Pan. It was... interesting. Pan hit on me."
Miranda was actually a little glad to hear that she wasn't the only one who thought Thane was a little off. "Looking is a fine pastime and I'll continue it. Until we find out he's got bodies under his bed. That kind of thing is a real turn off."

She frowned, "well as long as he just hit on you. I don't feel like getting turned into a bear because I hit Pan over the head for doing something to you."
"We can always ask pappou to check him out if we get really curious." It seemed reasonable to her, "I mean might as well take advantage of the divine interaction right? If he's bad news then we know and can handle it."

"Hermes is pretty protective over me," Miranda assured her. "He's careful about the gods around me, knowing what they're like." She was quite glad that Hermes thought of her that way, especially considering that his own mythology was no less filled with rape than any of the others. She was fortunate to be on the right side of him.
"He's probably just a weirdo," Miranda said with a shrug. "And he hasn't tried inviting me into his house for arsenic tea so I'll hold off for now. Poor guy just seems like a bit of a loner."

She smiled to her sister, "I'm glad he is. Hopefully I can get on his good side too. I only remember meeting him as actual Hermes. Then I got into school and all that."
She nodded, "he does. Nothing wrong with saying hello. Oh, change of topic are we going up to celebrate Christmas?"
