WHO: Jade & Krishna WHEN: Monday night WHERE: Krishna's apartment WHAT: Panic and worry and fix all things for me my Hindu friend! WARNINGS: language, drinking, possible sexy times
Jade had three days before she had to show her art to a room full of judgmental people who had come to see someone else's stuff and had to have hers instead. Jade thought that was enough to make any artist nervous and she was pretty sure she would have been nervous even without that pressure looming over her.
She wasn't ready at all and had come to the startling conclusion that everything she made was complete shit, something that was being shared loudly with anyone who happened to pass under the window and catch her spewing of expletives.
So she made 'art' (it didn't deserve not to have sarcastic quotation marks in her mind) and she drank and she did little else other than that. One could say it wasn't all that different to most of her days, just with a little added panic on top.
Three days, and late into the evening she gave up and got the train to Krishna's place, letting the vodka inside her make the train dance along the tracks a little more than it would have without it. But years of heavy daily drinking meant she was used to that.
At his house she knocked heavily on the door, pulling off her glasses to clean them on her shirt, and then knocking again because he'd not yet answered in the twenty seconds she'd allowed him.
Meditation came very easy to someone like Krishna. After a few millenniums of practice, he'd become very adept at blocking outside noises. These included, but were not limited to: traffic, conversations through walls, and someone knocking on the door.
Jade's second knock pulled Krishna out of his focus, but it still took him a moment to re-orient himself and understand there was someone at the door. Still halfway out of it and dressed only in a pair of loose fitting yoga pants, he stumbled out of his bedroom and into the living area.
It was dark, so he knew it was late, but he didn't keep a clock in his apartment to tell him anything more concrete. Still, he went ahead and pulled the door open a full minute after Jade's second knock.
"Oh. Jade. Sorry." He opened the door all the way and stepped back to let her through. "Were you waiting long?"

Jade didn't actually give him all that much chance to answer her question though, instead turning towards her friend and kissing him, wrapping her arms around his neck as she did so.

[info]bhagavan 2011-07-07 04:23 am UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select Still taking his time to catch up with the real world, Krishna's answer stopped somewhere in the middle of his brain when she kissed him. He made a sound, but it wasn't thoughtful or even coherent, and even that got stuck in his throat.
He had enough mind to kick the door closed - he hadn't looked in a mirror, but he was sure his skin was at least slightly blue from meditation - and he curved his hands around Jade's hips before separating a little to speak.
"I'm confused." His brow furrowed to confirm it. "Isn't it a holiday? What time is it?" He turned his head just enough to see the digital clock on his oven blinking 88:88. He ignored it, looking back to her and grinning just a little, his grip tightening on her waist for just a moment. "Also, hello."

(Meditation by osmosis?) "But that's not why I'm here. And I think it's about eleven at night." She hadn't removed herself from Krishna though and had no plans to do so.
"I figured," Jade said and kissed the curve of his throat, "that you might like to distract me from my work?"

[info]bhagavan 2011-07-10 09:49 pm UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select Krishna hummed, the information bringing things into focus for him. "I might," he said, slowly, his thumbs slipping under the hem of her shirt. "No angry men trying to kill me, though?"
He wasn't exactly jealous of Jade's sculptor - he'd seen others come and go and she'd seen many women fade in and out of his life. If he was completely honest, Krishna was somewhat uncomfortable with the fact that he was immortal and Greek on top of it. They had a reputation for being a bit angry, and he didn't want to be on the wrong end of that.

[info]heliolatrous 2011-07-11 11:34 am UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select "I trust you," Jade smirked, kissing him again before she dragged him towards the bedroom. If there was anything that would take her mind off things then it was Krishna in bed. There were definite benefits to their friends with benefits arrangement. (And Jade didn't have to worry about Krishna turning out to be an asshole come the morning.)
Afterward she lay curled in his arms, running a finger across his chest as she tried to hold onto the happiness instead of letting the art-panic take over again. Her clothes were strewn across the room and her glasses were... hopefully somewhere she wasn't going to step on them.

[info]bhagavan 2011-07-16 10:54 pm UTC (link) DeleteFreezeScreenTrack This Select There were very few people and very few things Krishna would interrupt his meditation for. Jade was at the top of both lists. One arm was laid out beneath her, fingers twisting lazily in her hair.
"Better?" She at least seemed relaxed. She'd seemed wound up lately, and that was about as mildly as he could put it.
