Elijah was very much looking forward to this date, even though he was fairly sure it would mostly be a bit of an interrogation. That was fine with Elijah! He didn't know any of Addy's family other than Evie and Will and Tuck, so it would be really nice to meet her brothers.

He was nervous of course, and he had forced Will to help choose his outfit. Which ended up being mostly non-descript, but at least he felt like he had put some effort in. He liked the way he looked these days, leaner and less bulky. There wasn't enough money in the world to get Elijah to touch another weight set again, so he was losing the bulkiness of his arms, replacing it with the long muscles of a runner. He dressed to accentuate that.

He got to the restaurant early, a jaunty Mexican place, and he sat for ten minutes, trying very hard not to just eat all the complimentary chips and salsa from nerves.

Addy practically pulled the boys from the car and up to the restaurant, though she paused at the door to smooth her orange dress a bit. "One last look!" she said, "am I hot?"
