Freddie sighed softly. "I find it hard to reconcile the inherent selfishness and heartbreak of having a child, with who I am as- as an entity. I've never intentionally made that choice." He paused for a long time, and then shook his head slightly. "There was one that I found out about later. I had to go away for a time. When I came back, the child was already born, but times were hard. He passed very young. There was nothing we could do." He could already sense Armaan's sorrow, and he clasped his shoulders and rubbed them gently. "It was a long time ago now. It doesn't pain me as it used to."
