When Will awoke, he woke completely, but he lay still, only opening his eyes to look at the familiar wall, the familiar way the sun came in through the curtains, the familiar sounds of Tuck pottering about in the kitchen. It made him smile, and he was absolutely going to get up in just a moment, just as soon as being this cosy was no longer what he wanted. Or until the smell of the best breakfast ever became too overpowering.
Getting up, he pulled on his fluffy robe and shuffled into the ensuite to piss and then make sure his face and hair was looking alright. He leaned in close, examining the almost beard he was currently sporting. Shaving with a plastic disposable razor hadn’t been that appealing, nor was making deals with the guards in order to get one. But now he had his own gear, and he could spend a good twenty minutes taking his time with it, lathering up and then using fresh warm water to rinse off after. He was tempted to shave in a goatee, and he did do one just to laugh at it in the mirror, but the idea of keeping it, even as a joke- well what if Tuck decided he liked it? No thanks.
He stepped out of the bedroom with a face as smooth as a baby’s bum, fresh and clean and ready to load his plate with fried eggs and baked beans. “Morning,” he said cheerfully, kissing the side of Tuck’s face and then heading straight for the coffee. “Mmm, smells like heaven in here! Sleep alright, ‘Lij? Wasn’t too soft for you?”
