Dom had been training for this for years before coming to the fight ring. Only Ares’ more favoured fighters got to come here. And so he watched the way this Will moved - wily little fucker - and tried to adjust his style accordingly. Nothing he did seemed to scare Will, so he was going to have to corner the little bugger. Stop him from scrambling away from any attack Dom launched at him. So he advanced, working on forcing Will over to the edge, taking the blows as they came because they weren’t hard enough to matter.
Tuck felt a little bit of relief as Will started the fight well. Tuck had been worried Will might be too exhausted to keep up, but that didn’t seem to be a problem. At least not yet. He could see what Dom was doing though, working Will close to the edge of the arena. And his heart leapt into his chest again, even as he pretended to cheer so no one would clock him.
Come on, Will. Come on, sweetheart. Figure out what he’s doing.
