“Oh my-” Marcie barely made it out of Kaden’s way as he barrelled through the kitchen, clutching her iced tea close to her chest so it didn’t spill. A moment later, Ash followed, being more careful not to run into anyone, and glancing at his father as he passed with a grin.
The garden was only mildly enchanted to be longer on the inside than it was on the outside, the garden beds neatly arranged and a few fruit trees providing shade and sustenance. Ash didn’t stop for his boots, his feet hardly touching the back steps as he flew down them and tore along the grass. “No escape now!” he called, almost laughing and not about to give up the chase for anything. He jumped over a garden bed when Matthew moved across, sure-footed as a goat on his own turf. “I have you!”
