He gave his sister a fond, tired smile. "I could do booping," he nodded. "I'm glad I have my thumbs, honestly. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to feed myself at all." Imagining someone else having to feed him was pretty horrible. It was already pretty frustrating he was going to need help cutting stuff up and getting dressed.
"Here can one of you do me a favour?" he said. He arched his hips up and dug in his pocket with his one good index finger, until he retrieved his wedding ring. "Can one of you put this on my necklace until I can wear it on my finger again?" he asked, holding it up. He leaned up so someone could more easily slip the ring onto the silver chain he had around his neck which bore the cross blessed by both David and Gabriel.
Then he said, "so- I'm definitely not going back to that school." He hoped they understood why. "I'll figure out how to do my last few weeks with them on Monday but I am not going back to that campus. I- I was taken from there and now I've been-" Henry held up his poor, brutalised hands, looking a little mournful.
