Henry had been passing the time by worrying frantically, and attempting to read a book on his phone. What if Addy was miserable and she still wanted to die? What if she yelled at Iestyn? It wasn't beyond the realm of possibility. What if Addy still hated Henry for reacting the only way he possibly could have?
What if Iestyn walked out of the ward, crushed?! Henry would be there for him, obviously. Henry would do anything he could for Iestyn, but this whole situation was just so big and Henry felt dwarfed by it. Addy was Iestyn's favourite person in the entire world, if he felt he was losing her- And just what if Iestyn did end up losing Addy afterall? Would it mean Henry lost Iestyn?
Of course Henry's whirling thoughts meant he had read the same page so many times by the time Iestyn re-emerged, that it was kind of a relief he didn't have to pretend to be comprehending it any more.
He stashed his phone and smiled warmly at his husband. Iestyn didn't look crushed. In fact he looked kind of relieved, which caused a wash of relief to pour through Henry as well, which he hoped wasn't premature. And Iestyn had ambrosia! "Oh yum!" Henry said, reaching out for it. He loved ambrosia, especially when it had tiny marshmallows in it, and this looked like it did. "You brought me food, my hero," he said grinning. "Shall we find a bench outside to eat it? In the shade," he added, because who wanted to swelter in the sun? Iestyn's ankles would get so hot! "You alright?" he asked as he rose and fell in step with his husband. He hoped his voice hadn't sounded too desperate.
